BIG SHIP MAKES A U-TURN AND STILL WORKING ON THE FREEDO VANDITO CLEAN-UP

FIRST TIME I'VE SEEN A BIG LAKE FREIGHTER COME INTO  GODERICH'S HARBOR BOW FIRST
Definitely a welcome touch of Autumn in the refreshingly cool early morning air with cooler 60F temperatures upon us.  With clear sunny skies breaking over the horizon it didn't take long to warm up a tad but overall with low humidity it was a totally acceptable mighty fine day.  Had a few things to pick up in Goderich so Pheebs and I headed up that way for a Jeep ride.  Think it was my only time remembering a large lake freighter turning around in the inner harbor.  No easy feat I'm sure.
NICE MORNING ALONG ROTARY COVES LAKESHORE AT THE DOG WALKING AREA
HARDY FLOWERS GROWING UP OUT OF A PEBBLE STREWN BEACH
KEEPING THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE
PASSING BY THE OUTER LIGHT STATION
I'M SURE THE CAPTAIN WILL BE KEEPING A CLOSE LOOK OUT FROM THE BRIDGE
A FORWARD CREWMAN KEEPS WATCH FROM THE BOW
A FOUR EYE LOOKOUT ON THE STARBOARD SIDE
THIS IS THE INNER HARBOR WHERE THE BIG SHIP WILL MAKE A U-TURN
THOSE FISHERMEN IN THE ALUMINUM BOAT HAD BETTER KEEP AN EYE ON THAT BIG HULL HEADED FOR THEM
OH-OH LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE DUMPING ALL THEIR VODKA OVERBOARD
'HEY WHO LEFT THE VODKA VALVE OPEN'!!

'SORRY CAPTAIN GUESS IT WAS ME'
I'M THINKING THIS SHIP ONCE WENT BY ANOTHER NAME
A FORWARD BOW THRUSTER CHURNS UP THE WATER
Home later I dusted off my cleaning supplies once more and went after the exterior of the camper van.  I've made a little headway  but have a long way to go.  It's a good project for me and keeps me and my mind actively occupied.  I think the 'Freedo Vandito' came along just at the right time despite it's exterior cleaning challenges.
LOTS OF CLEANING SUPPLIES
Still some pain in my back but only when I go to the washroom.  Still taking the prescribed pain pills as well.  Ahhhhh tis quite a life we have going on here.  No complaints:))
SHIP'S LARGE PROPELLER FROTHS UP THE HARBOR WATER
HEY THERE GO THE FISHERMEN SCOOTING AROUND THE OTHER SIDE
I'M THINKNG THAT BROWN WATER IS MUD STIRRED UP FROM THE BOTTOM
AAA
THE ALGOMA COMPASS BEGINS IT'S TURN TO PORT
STILL TURNING
THIS WAS OUR LAST GLIMPSE OF THE FREIGHTER AS WE EXITED THE HARBOR AREA

You know that tingly little feeling you get when you like someone?  That's common sense leaving your body.

  1. Kinda cool too see a large ship doing a U turn there in that small harbour.
Looks like you cleaning is making good progress and going to look awesome pretty soon ready to tour.

  2. I'm thinking that maybe that photographer's eye might get in your way sometimes. You would like for the van to be as wonderfully clear and sparkling as those spectacular photos of yours. Be assured that most of us don't see all the little "flaws" that your eye detects. We would think the van looks great much sooner than you do. So, maybe don't be too disappointed if you don't get it to match a gleaming 2019 model? I am glad you are feeling upbeat. With less pain and happy work.
