FINALLY TODAY SOME WELCOME RELIEF FROM OUR AREAS HEAT AND MISERABLE HUMIDITY

Venturing out our door this morning I was immediately aware of cooler air and a definite lack of humidity.  What a great feeling that was.  A slight cooling breeze from the East made for an overall beautiful weather morning.
Lake Huron's high water levels are taking a toll on shorelines in our area and I was surprised to hear a local Mobile home Park north of Goderich has issued an evacuation notice for a number of units close to the water.  Meneset Park sits high on a bluff overlooking Lake Huron and with higher water levels and wave action eroding the bank below these homes are in jeopardy of collapsing down the embankment.   Meneset Mobile Home Park  Also along the same bank north of Meneset there is still more trouble.  700 Homes In Erosion Zone.  In the two photos below taken by the Grand Bend Harbour Cam one can see how high Lake Huron levels are.  In the first photo water levels are over the pier at the boat launching ramp lower right.  In the second photo one can almost step off the top of the pier right into the water where before there was about a 5 foot drop.
Pheebs and I did get out of course earlier today but it was a rather uneventful Jeep ride.  Didn't take a lot photos but we did get a short bug free walk in.  We simply drove along slow with windows down soaking up the picturesque rural countryside.  One of the nicer mornings of the year so far and of course being Sunday we encountered very few vehicles.  Had the countryside all to ourselves again:)))))
CORNS UP ABOUT 3 FEET NOW

GROANER'S CORNER:((   A urologist who had lost interest in his medical practice decided to change careers and enrolled in auto mechanic school. He performed well in the course but was still shocked when he got an off-the-chart 200 on his final exam. He asked the instructor to explain the grade."I gave you 50 points for taking the engine apart correctly," the teacher said, "50 points for putting it back together correctly -- and an extra 100 points for doing it all through the muffler."

  1. Nice to see that you are enjoying this cooler weather, amazing how high the lake levels are. I actually find it too cold, (but that is just me) Hopefully the weather has settled down a bit for while, but we still have a few more weeks to deal with yet. Enjoy this while your can

  2. That corn is amazing! Up here it's only a foot high at best, some is barely out of the ground.

  3. Nice to have a cool day. Our corn has grown to six feet. Most in this last week with the hot humid days we have had.

  4. Here in the west it's hard to imagine too much water, but we certainly have more these last two years than the previous 10. That corn is sure looking healthy!!
