I am still wearing a winter jacket most mornings and last night we even had to have the furnace on again.  Had to have the heater on in the Jeep this morning again as well.  Will somebody please remind me it's June 3rd and I'm just imaging all this.  But here's the consolation. I would much sooner have this cooler weather than the heat and humidity that is no doubt waiting right around the corner.  But maybe, just maybe we'll have a cooler summer.  Ya right!!

IT WAS ANOTHER LAZY MORNING IN THE COUNTRYSIDE

Picked a few different country roads for our ramblings this morning but again didn't go too far.  It was a beautiful morning despite icy winds coming in off the lake.  Sunshine and white puffy clouds gave the landscape a great look.  Autumn has it's golds, yellows, and reds while Spring has it's many, many, shades of vibrant green.

Because of the cooler air keeping the flying insects grounded it was a nice day to be outside in the gardens again.  Watched Little Red make a landing on the birdfeeder so another adjustment to the feeder and a few more branches off Little Red's jumping shrub.

BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE ANYONE HAS WALKED THIS WAY

INTO THE TALLER TREES WE LOST THE TRAIL

SEARCHING FURTHER A SMALL CREEK BLOCKS OUR WAY

FOUND SIGNS OF SOME BUILDING MATERIALS BUT WHATEVER WAS HERE IS NOW GONE

NOW TO FIND OUR WAY BACK TO THE ROAD AGAIN

I re-potted the two Emerald Cedar trees I brought home Sunday and took our new battery operated lawn mower for it's first full spin around our grassy areas.  Worked like a charm and I am so pleased with it's lack of big noise and it's easy start-up.  Press a button, pull a handlebar lever and away I go.  No fuss, no muss, no bother.  Mowed for maybe 15 minutes and there was no slackening in the dual battery power.  By the way there is also a 'Turbo Power' knob in case extra power is needed for grass over three feet tall.  Well Okay maybe not that tall but yes there is a turbo knob for extra power.  The seventeen inch mower is a perfect fit for our paths and small amount of grass we have here.  Also happy to say our White Clover is growing great and filling in nicely.  What a change for us to see solid green instead of bare ground with a few patches of scraggly grass hear and there.

Working contentedly away outside in our flower gardens this morning I again thought how lucky I am to have a place where I can spend enjoyable time outdoors puttering with this and fussing with that.  It was always a worry of mine back in 2008 when we were contemplating selling our place and going full time in our Damon 33' Class A Motorhome.  What would I do with my time during the summer months.  Not only that but the thoughts of having to sit around in RV Parks from mid April to mid October was totally unacceptable for both of us.  In hindsight I'm glad we made the decision we did and hung onto our little place here just outside of Bayfield Ontario, but there are days when, well.....that's another story.

John in the 'Shoutbox' asked, How far can you go till you have to stop to leg stretch?'  Guess my answer to that would be to say 'indefinitely' but luckily with Pheebs along I know she likes to get out and explore around so those times I call our leg stretches.  A forest walk or if I pull over to get out and take picture of something also constitutes a leg stretch.  Quite often in the Motorhome over the years I have driven for hours upon hours and hundreds of miles without a break and of course that is a bad habit to get into and not a good thing to do.  And it's always much easier to stop for a leg stretch in a four wheel Jeep than it was is in a big six wheel 37' Motorhome.
