SUNSHINE, OUTSIDE PUTTERING, AND A NEW JEEP MUFFLER

Despite a coolness to the day's air we were bathed in healing sunlight from sunrise to sundown.  And that of course went a long way to making for an Okay day.
NOW THAT THE LITTLE RED SQUIRRELS CANNOT GET ONTO THE FEEDING PLATFORM THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY BLITZING THIS SUET FEEDER WHICH IS OKAY
Short Jeep ride this morning but Pheebs and I did trudge ourselves through a muddy field when I heard a dog barking in a forest near a spot we had stopped for a leg stretch.  We never did locate the dog and it may have scampered off to a nearby farm.  Oh well, it was good exercise for my troublesome legs.  Maybe it was the extra 50 pounds of mud clinging to my shoes eh:((
PHEEBS & I SLOGGED OFF ACROSS THIS MUDDY FIELD FOLLOWING THOSE TRACTOR  TRACKS OVER TO THAT BUSH LINE IN SEARCH OF A BARKING DOG
COUNTRY ROADS CAN GET A BIT CROWDED THIS TIME OF YEAR
Home again I busied myself with a lot of small puttery stuff around the outside.  I'll not drag you through all that but it was an easy kind of puttering and I don't mind that stuff.
SOME DANDELIONS ARE BEGINNING TO GO TO SEED
HOW'S THAT FOR A MUTANT DANDELION STEM
Small correction to my Monday night post about Kelly's 'Permanent Resident Card'.  It's the Canadian Government who wants all that information and not the American Government.  The correction has already been made to Monday's post.
I THINK THAT MIGHT BE MAMA ORIOLE ON THE LEFT AND MAMA GROSBEAK ON THE RIGHT

MALE CARDINAL
Slipped myself up to Goderich this afternoon and had the Jeep's new muffler and tailpipe installed.  Yes, definitely quieter now and when I get the noisy winter tires off in the morning I will have to get in the habit when going down the road of making putt-putt motoring sounds with my lips just so I know the engine is still running.
GROANER'S CORNER:((  When a woman wears leather clothing a man's heart beats quicker.  His throat gets dry, he goes week in the knees, and he begins to think irrationally.  Ever wonder why?  Because she smells like a new truck!!!

It was graduation night at Cox High School and they were about halfway through the ceremony when the principal said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a problem, Bubba is a few credits short and won't be able to graduate tonight." Well now, Bubba was the starting right guard for Cox's football team, and when the student body heard that he wasn't going to graduate, they all jumped up and started to chant, "Give Bubba another chance, give Bubba another chance!"  One of Bubba's main teachers and the principal had a quick conference and afterward, the principal announced that they have decided to give Bubba another chance. Bubba is told that he will be given a "One Question" math test and if he passes, he can graduate. The question is, "What is 2 plus 3?" Bubba thinks for about 20 minutes and finally says, "I have it! The answer is 5!" There is complete silence in the auditorium for a couple of seconds and then the entire Cox High School football team jumps up and begins to chant, "Give Bubba one more chance. Give Bubba one more Chance!"

  1. Dandelions are a very hardy plant and can grow most anywhere. I have seen none on my 12 acres, but that doesn't mean that they don't grow here.

    1. They seem to love growing in this part of Alaska. I have not seen any yet in my yard but will in a week or two. I agree they are hardy plants.

  3. Looks like you have the squirrels almost under control. No muffler noise is nice and soon the quiet tires You can then sneak around the back roads.

  6. Great pics of Little Reds antics. They are fun to watch. Amazed you needed a muffler, I thought they now lasted twenty years.
