ANOTHER DISMAL MORNING BUT AFTERNOON SUNSHINE SAVED THE DAY AND THE SQURREL WAR CONTINUES

Blogging is an enjoyable hobby for me with writing and photography coming natural.  But I do have my days.  Hardest part is at night putting the day's words and photos together in a blog editing program.  If I went with just a simple format like black printing on a white background, no fancy colors or borders and only posted a few in-line photos things would probably be pretty easy most of the time but white backgrounds are not the best for photos and I don't like the idea of my blog looking like a bland newspaper article.  I see the world in color and I guess that reflects in my blog.  I'm still using the Blogger format despite Open Live Writer working again.  I briefly looked at WordPress but my eyes crossed, my legs twitched, my jaw dropped, and I hyperventilated for a full five minutes.  Live Writer is by far the better blog editing program if you compare it to Blogger but I don't want to go back to it because of it's recurring '400' series blog errors.  I've had enough of those errors unexpectantly shutting me down over the years and each time poor Kelly would spend hours trying to straighten things out and keep me settled down as well.  And that just isn't fair for Kelly.  I don't have a lot of patience anymore for things that don't work properly and a hot blue steam has been known to emanate from my ears on such occasions.
A FEW PHOTOS FROM AROUND THE FRONT YARD THIS AFTERNOON

PLASTIC CHILI PEPPERS IN A CHERRY TREE

Had us a miserable morning again with cold air and rain.  Pheebs and I were out for awhile but never took any photos.  Skies cleared early afternoon and again it was our front yard that came through with a few pics for me.
I FOLLOWED THIS LITTLE BUZZY BEE AROUND FOR A FEW MINUTES

In the morning it will be all three of us in the Jeep again.  Glad I put those new tires on.
WE HAVE A TYPE OF CHERRY TREE BLOSSOMING IN OUR FRONT YARD BUT DON'T KNOW WHAT TYPE.

OUR HOSTA LEAVES ARE FULLY OUT

THE CLOVER LAWN IS COMING RIGHT ALONG
'Little Red' took back the lead early this morning when we spotted her vacuuming up bird seed on the feeder again.  I again repositioned the bird station on the platform and put two big plastic jugs on the shrub side of the feeder.  Those temporary deterring jugs remained on the feeder all day and although I did see Little Red in the yard I did not see her make any flying leaps at the feeder.  Oh, and the other day Little Red managed to leap from a branch onto our Finch feeder and totally destroyed it by gnawing a hole right through the plastic.  Picked up a new Finch feeder this morning and in the photo below you can see it hanging in a now supposedly Squirrel safe place.  Ya, I can hear y'all snickerin...............
THESE BIG JUGS KEPT LITTLE READ OFF THE FEEDER FOR TODAY BUT I'LL HAVE TO COME UP WITH SOMETHING SMALLER
GROANER'S CORNER:(( People smoke for 60-70 years, then show up at the Doctors saying, I had no idea it was bad for me! Come on!!  Your breathing in fire. What did you think you were doing, training for the circus? Even if they didnt put a label on the pack, you would know its bad for you, wouldnt you? They dont need to put a warning label on a hammer for me to know if I smack myself in the face, its gonna hurt.

seem worth waiting in line for.

  1. Little Red is an expensive little bugger. And the bee pics were fabulous, as well as the flora.

  2. What beautiful shots of the bee. You should have been a photographer for National Geo. I still think you need to get a pistol that shoots little round balls. It won't hurt him but it would be fun to do.

  3. Like Flowrgirl said. Get a kids BB gun. I got one for just that reason. It doesn't really hurt them but it messes with them while they are stealing the birds' feed and it gives me something to do. A win/win situation. And oh, did I say it is fun. . .

  7. Your photography is amazing! Great lighting and focus. You can make ordinary things into great subjects for a photo. I love how the Redbud blooms, little pink blooms coming right out of the stems.
