WE TACKLED THE BIG MOTORHOME CLEAN-UP TODAY

THIS IS THE FIRST SHIP I'VE SEEN IN THE PORT OF GODERICH THIS YEAR BUT I THINK THERE WAS ANOTHER ONE IN A FEW DAYS BEFORE THIS ONE
Sometimes for no apparent reason my blogging interests just simply up and desert me and it usually lasts for a day or two.  And once again that was the case these past couple days.  Wasn't until late this afternoon I finally felt a stirring of interest again.  I am nearly at my 4,000th published post mark and some days I just run out of things to blather on about.  Even I get tired of my own repetitiveness.
ICE IS MELTING FAST ON LAKE HURON
DIDN'T NOTICE UNTIL I EDITED THIS PHOTO TONIGHT THAT THERE ARE TWO BOATS AND 4 FISHERMEN OUT THERE BY THE BREAKWATER
I'M GUESSING BY MONDAY ALL THIS ICE WILL BE GONE FROM THE INNER HARBOR
THIS CHUNK OF ICE IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF HOW AN ICEBERG HAS ABOUT THREE QUARTERS OR MORE OF IT'S MASS UNDERWATER
Nice afternoon walk with Pheebs and I have our front yard frog pond waterfall going.  A couple weeks ago I almost threw out my pond pump thinking it was burned out after being froze up in the pond this past winter.  Had plugged it in and nothing happened, not even a sound.  What I hadn't realized is that the pump was froze solid.  With milder temps and the pump sitting on our sunny deck I decided to plug it in one last time to make sure it was bust.  Well it wasn't bust.  It made a noise so I quickly put it back in the pond and it shot a plume of water 300 feet into the air.  Okay, maybe not that high but it did bubble up the water and soon as I hooked up the hose our little waterfall was back in business for another season:))
HAPPY TO HAVE OUR POND PUMP WORKING AGAIN AND DOUBLY HAPPY I DIDN'T HAVE TO BUY A NEW PUMP
CAUGHT THIS MALE MALLARD DUCK COMING IN FOR A LANDING ON OUR PARK'S POND THIS AFTERNOON
THIS 'COLTSFOOT' FLOWER IS ALWAYS A SURE SIGN OF SPRING

Not a lot going on these days but with a nice Spring day upon us we finally tackled the big Motorhome clean-up.  Kelly on the inside and me on the outside.  We'll probably spend Sunday as well working on it.  Have to put the dinette (table and chairs) back in again too.
WELL HERE I GO AGAIN WASHING THE BIG WHITE ELEPHANT

PHEEBS GOT A NEW FUNKY CHICKEN  TO REPLACE HER FUNKY CHICKEN WITH NO FEET
The seemingly endless saga of Motorhome repairs continues for us and we are so discouraged.  I had been aware for awhile that something didn't seem right with the rig.  There was a vibration when I stepped on the gas and it seemed like the Motorhome was getting louder.  Last week when Pheebs and I took it to Goderich for gas and propane it was noticeably noisier and the vibration seemed worse.  On the way home I thought I smelled exhaust fumes.  Suspecting a muffler problem I drove it to Carter's East End garage in Clinton where we've had tail pipe work done before.  They determined at Carters that both our mufflers have detached from the manifold which explains the noise and vibration.  With the Motorhome too tall to fit in their garage for a major exhaust repair they were unable to help us out.  Our good friend Ron from Four Seasons Performace suggested we call the South End Tirecraft Truck Center in Parkhill Ontario which is about a 40 minute drive south of us.  We did that and will be heading to Parkhill next week.  No matter what they find we know it is going to be another big $$$$$ repair bill but we have no choice if we want to sell our Triple E Commander.  Which we do.  We have easily sunk well over $5000 into Motorhome repairs in the last 6 months.  We don't know the exact amount because we are both afraid to total all the bills.  Anyway that's where we're at and when we sell it somebody is going to get a Motorhome with a whole bunch of new parts on it.  Good for them of course but not so good for us.  Say, did I mention something earlier about being discouraged....:((
I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING WITH BAYFIELD'S BEACH
NICE TO SEE ALL THE ICE FINALLY OUT OF THE BAYFIELD RIVER
Okay, so I already know what the next question is.  After we sell our 37' Class A Motorhome will we get another RV and if so, what??  Well, that is a big unknown for us right now and it's going to boil down to a 'head' or 'heart' decision.  The head says it would probably be wise to forget about another RV and simply pack in the whole RV traveling thing and call it a day.  Hang up the RV keys and settle in for the next stage of our lives.  Well that's what the head says but that's not what the heart says and it's in the heart where the Gypsy spirit lives.  It's in the heart where that sense of adventure and curiosity resides and it's in the heart where youth refuses to let go.
CANADA GEESE ON OUR PARK'S POND
THERE GOES THAT DUCK AGAIN
NO THAT IS NOT SNOW IN THE BACKGROUND, IT'S SUNLIGHT GLINTING OFF WET LEAVES AND WATER
Beyond the shadow of a doubt we had us our finest weather day of the year.  Sunshine and well over 50F.  How nice to feel that good old Spring tonic flowing through ones body again.  Warmer Sunday but cloudy with an afternoon chance of rain.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Medical Info Families Should Know::  (Sorry about the mixed up text color below but it's that dam 'Blogger Format' I am forced to use now that keeps screwing me around!!!!)

Q: Should I have a baby after 35?

A: No, 35 children is enough.
Q : I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move?
A: With any luck, right after he finishes college.
Q : What is the most reliable method to determine a baby's sex?
A: Childbirth.
Q: My wife is five months pregnant and so moody that sometimes she's borderline irrational.

A: So what's your question?

Q?: My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?

A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current!!
Q: When is the best time to get an epidural?
A: Right after you find out you're pregnant.
Q?: Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor?
A: Not unless the word "alimony" means anything to you.
Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth?
A: Yes, pregnancy.
Q: Do I have to have a baby shower?
A: Not if you change the baby's diaper very quickly.
Q: Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again?
A: When the kids are in college.

  1. Hi, Al. This time I wasn't much worried when you missed a few days, You and Kelly have had more than enough headaches lately with all the repairs. Then, there's the cloud hanging over you when you
consider what's next. We have been where you are, remember. I hope you will get a decent price for
the big E. Listen to your heart. The future seems pretty bleak when you're looking at staying in one place. Enjoy the nicer weather and keep talking to us.

  2. Don't feel bad. I've sunk about 10k into Hailey this winter, and she's not even for sale! And the way blogger is working lately, I may not blog much longer either. And in typical Blogger fashion, it won't let me select my actual name or blog, only the fake name it made me pick before I could publish last time! And it has given up updating on any else's blog sidebar as well!! Ivan http://roadtrip-06.blogspot.com/

  4. You don't have to own a motor home or travel gear to travel...an airbnb in the southwest for a couple months each year probably way cheaper than any vehicle you could buy and keep up. You could actually do more Rambling with your Jeep on day trips...just my 2 cents when thinking of what you mentioned. Your pond looks great by the way! A wonderful habitat for frogs!

  7. Good news on the the pond pump but not so great on the mufflers. I think that all RVers have to keep shelling out if they want their RV to be in top shape. Right now we are waiting for a part to be made for our RV.
