NO PASSPORTS REQUIRED

I LIKE WORKING ON MY PATHWAYS AND THIS ONE BY OUR HOUSE LEADS INTO OUR BACKYARD
Rains came in the night leaving roads wet and dirty and of course it was this morning we had to take the Motorhome to Parkhill for muffler work.  Parkhill is 50 miles south of Bayfield.  Luckily roads were dry south of town so the rig didn't end up getting too messed up by the time we reached the South End Tirecraft Truck Center garage.  Just a minor clean-up when we get the rig back home again.
LAST TIME I DROVE THE RIG DOWN THIS STRETCH OF ROAD WAS LAST DECEMBER 29TH WHEN WE WERE HEADED FOR THE SOUTHWEST
OH DEAR NOT ANOTHER GARAGE
 PARKHILL ONTARIO
Kelly and Pheebs followed me in the Jeep to Parkhill and leaving the Motorhome there at the garage we made our way back home after picking up a couple Hortons coffees to go before heading out.
STOPPED BY THIS PARKHILL LAKE ON THE WAY HOME TO LET PHEEBS OUT FOR A RUN
Our morning and late afternoon weather turned out real nice with sunshine and temperatures in the 50+ neighborhood.  Turned out to be an excellent day to resume my outside yardwork projects.  Nice change from the last couple days working away on the Motorhome.  I'm still raking up lots of pine needles and seeings how our place is a corner property I like to keep the two roads on both sides of us looking nice as well.  I easily have a couple more utility trailer loads to haul away soon as roads dry out a bit down around our yard waste recycling area.  All this extra exercise sure tires me out but boy oh boy does it ever feel great and especially when I come back inside and flop into my cushy recliner.  Snooze time, but only for a few minutes then it's back outside again.  Great time of year with it being not too hot and not to cold. No bugs in the air either. I figure all my energy is coming from all my enthusiasm.  Heard a whole mess of Peeper Frogs over at the Park's pond last night and that made for another great gulp of Mother Nature's annual Spring Tonic:))

BUSY TODAY CLEANING UP ALONG THE ROAD IN FRONT OF OUR PLACE
AND THE ROAD ALONG THE SIDE

MY PINE NEEDLE PILE IS GROWING
THE JEEP HARDLY FILLS THE MOTORHOME'S SPOT
IT IS ALWAYS THIS TIME OF YEAR OUR YARD LOOKS THE WORST
YEP, ALL THOSE ROCKS ARE FROM THE GREAT SOUTHWEST ALRIGH
OUR CORKSCREW SHRUB WILL SOON BURST FORTH WITH GREEN LEAVES
OUR FROG POND IS LOOKING A BIT ON THE RATTY SIDE....BUT SOON:))
OUR FRONT DECK IS BEGINNING TO SHOW A LITTLE COLOR
Our forest canopy remains quiet while it patiently awaits the return of Summer's beautiful songbirds.  The feathery little fellows will even now be making their way North and gathering soon on the southern shores of Lake Erie awaiting warmer Ontario temperatures and favorable southerly winds to help carry their little wings across the wide stretch of Erie's open water.  No Passports required:))

YES I SURE DO LOVE THE LITTLE FOREST PATHWAYS I HAVE MADE OVER THE YEARS
GROANER'S CORNER:((  It was autumn, and the Indians on the remote reservation asked their new Chief if the winter was going to be cold or mild. Since he was an Indian Chief in a modern society, he had never been taught the old secrets, and when he looked at the sky, he couldn't tell what the hell the weather was going to be. Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he replied to his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect wood to be prepared.  But also being a practical leader, after several days he got an idea.  He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked, "Is the coming winter going to be cold?"  "It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold indeed," the Meteorologist at the weather service responded.  So the Chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more wood in order to be prepared.  One week later he called the National Weather Service again.  "Is it going to be a very cold winter?" he asked.  "Yes," the man at National Weather Service again replied, "it's going to be a very cold winter.  "The Chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of wood they could find.  Two weeks later he called the National Weather Service again. "Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?"  "Absolutely," the man replied. "It looks like it's going to be one of the coldest winters ever."  "How can you be so sure?" the Chief asked.  The weatherman replied, "The Indians are collecting firewood like crazy".

  2. Glad you are enjoying the clean up. I always enjoyed that as well when I owned stix 'n brix. Spring is around the corner, the yard always looks the worst just before the green comes.

  3. I loved my corkscrew shrub but that was in our last yard. I liked cutting a few pieces to add to a vase of flowers.

  4. I never knew your blog sun room was right by the road. I like how your pics looked so in the woods and yet you could keep track of who came and went in your hood. I like your rocks, I have / had quite a collection I brought home from places I landed in my bush plane. I say had because a neighbor kid found them fascinating and made them his. My tiny back yard work is done as we are now in the mid to high 80's and I do not like to get up early to do yard work.
