APPOINTMENT THIS MORNING WITH MY UROLOGIST ABOUT MY PSA NUMBERS

DSC_4342

You would think an early morning 8:10 a.m. appointment would be on time but nope by the time my Urologist, Doctor Bukala saw me it was going on 9 o’clock.  If my appointment was that late first thing in the morning just think of how backed up the poor folks coming after me would be and especially by late afternoon.

For the past 5 years or so my PSA numbers have been on a slow but steady rise and after my latest blood test a week ago my numbers have…..gone down.  What, well that was sure a surprise.   Good news for me for sure.  Next PSA blood test will be in early October.

NICE TO SEE THIS OLDER FELLA WORKING OUT ON THE BEACH

Following my Clinton Hospital appointment this morning I headed back home, picked up Pheebs, and headed off to Goderich.  The Jeep was needing a good hosing off with last weeks accumulated road salt still hanging on plus I was needing some peanut butter.  Never want to run the risk of running out of peanut butter.

Today’s sunshine lifted my Spirits a tad and I’m sure a little warmth in the air one of these days will lift them even more.

GROANER’S CORNER:(( This example shows the importance of accuracy when submitting your tax return. The IRS returned the Tax Return submitted by a New York City man implying that he answered one of the questions incorrectly.  In response to the question, 'List your dependents”, you wrote: '12.1 million illegal immigrants, 1.1 million crack-heads, 4.4 million unemployed deadbeats, 80,000 criminals in over 85 prisons, at least 450 idiots in Congress and those who call themselves Politicians.' The IRS responded that “this is unacceptable!”  The man's response to the IRS was: 'Who did I leave out?'

A motorist caught by a speed camera received notification of a fine in the mail, plus a picture of his vehicle. Duly impressed, he sent back the notification along with a photo of a $100 note to pay the fine.

Little eight-year-old Nancy was in the garden filling in a hole when her neighbor peered over the fence. Interested in what the youngster was doing, he asked: "What are you doing there, Nancy?"  "My goldfish died," Nancy sobbed. "And I've just buried him."  The obnoxious neighbor laughed and said condescendingly: "That's a really big hole for a little goldfish, don't you think?"  Nancy patted down the last heap of earth with her shovel and replied: "That's because he's inside your cat."

  1. Great to hear that your PSA is dropping, a good sign.
The sunshine and slightly warmer weather sure does make one feel real good.
We hope soon even gets more betterer.

  2. Yep, the great Canadian medical system. Better than what the Americans have, but faaaaar from perfect. Ruth's father was just given an appointment with a pain specialist... expect to see him within two to three years.

  4. Great news about the PSA, Al!
I think one of those young fishermen is a fisherwoman (girl). It looks cold but they don't seem to be bundled the way I would be!
Love the red and white and the way the one duck is camouflaged.

  5. Glad to read your PSA #s are down...BTW< what kind of fish are caught there this time of year? Any salmon at other times? Walleye and bronze back bass too? You and Pheebs ever go fishing?

  6. Glad the numbers are better, always a good feeling to know things are improving.

Those fisher folks don't seem to be as bundled as I would be but then again maybe after the winter weather they've endured it's almost balmy for them.

I think the new ship looks squatty, not the towering structures of the others in the Algoma line. Probably rides the rough water better, less to catch the winds and I would think a wider base at the water line would help keep it a bit more stable. Glad I'm not going to be riding it.

That Lake Huron water looks cold and unforgiving. That dark blue colour is so unpleasant and uninviting. I'm looking forward to your summer time pictures of the same waters and the sparkling blue they'll be showing.

I think you may be right, there was a tinge of green to those roadsides on your drive. Any signs of buds yet?

  7. When you get bored just remember you live
In a very beautiful place with so many interesting
vista's. Your pictures always reveal that ! 😊

  8. Well that's news that put a smile on my face! Maybe you knocked those little PSAers out into Lake Huron when you slipped and fell. Great news, Al!

  9. Good to hear about your treatment. Here are two things you can do to improve it further. I get it from urology website design sample list and read few more articles.

    1. Lose weight.
Some contradictory evidence surrounds the association between overweight and obesity and PSA. On the one hand, excess weight is associated with a greater risk of prostate cancer, prostatitis, and enlarged prostate, all conditions also associated with an elevated PSA. However, several studies point to lower PSA levels in healthy overweight and obese men, including a new study in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Medicine. Overall however, losing weight is the more logical and healthful step for the prostate and your general health.

    2. Take aspirin.
Several studies have indicated that use of aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can reduce PSA levels. A University of Arizona study, for example, found that this effect was especially significant among men who had never smoked. Before taking aspirin, however, talk to your healthcare provider about whether it is safe for you to do so and the optimal dose for you.
