I WAS STUCK FOR PICTURES TODAY…..UNTIL WE WENT OUT FOR SUPPER TONIGHT

THAT’S SPEEDY GONZALES AT THE WHEEL WITH HER SIDEKICK PECOS PAT RIDING SHOTGUN …. PECOS IS SAYING, “GOOD JOB RUNNING THAT YELLOW LIGHT AMIGO”

One of the overall positive things our annual winter RV travels do for us each year is to give Kelly and I a very true and thankful perspective of the great country of Canada we live in near Bayfield Ontario.   We are so lucky to live where we do near the clear water shores of Lake Huron in Southwestern Ontario’s rural farm lands and forests.  We will be glad to get ourselves back ‘home’ again in a few weeks.  We are so fortunate to have a home where we can finally get out of the Motorhome for the next 6 or 7 months.  That is a big plus for us.  And I am soooooo much looking forward once more to resuming the quietly simple morning country road Jeep rides with my very much most bestest furry little Pal of ever, da Pheebs.  We can hit all our old favorite spots and walk our serene forest trails with only the sounds of birds, frogs, and crickets to accompany us along the way.  No traffic, no noise, no people, no problem……………..

THE GANG ROLLS INTO APPLEBEES FOR SUPPER TONIGHT

Needing a few groceries and things Kelly headed out this morning to browse around a bit.  I could have gone but elected to stay home with the Pheebs.  I’ve had enough of the maniac drivers and traffic congestion. Sitting quietly in the rig reading with my soothing ambient music playing I was definitely in the right place for me to be.  Thankfully there was some cloud cover and a nice breeze earlier today holding back the heat and humidity for at least a little while.  I am so much looking forward to quieter times and cooler dryer air soon in good old Ontariariario, Canada:))))))))))  (still haven’t figured out what changes my printing color)

KELLY’S CEDAR PLANK SALMON WITH MASHED SWEET POTATOES, GREEN BEANS, AND STEAMED SPINACH (WHEWWW, GLAD I DIDN’T HAVE TO EAT THAT)

Talked to our new neighbors this morning for about an hour.  New neighbors??  David’s sister and husband who are just  3 weeks into RVing for their very first time are parked around the corner from us near the pond in their new Mercedes Benz Class C Forest River.  This is their ‘shake-down cruise’ and they will be here until Sunday. Everything is new to them so we had ourselves a bit of an RV chat.  Really nice folks and I know they will fit into the RV community just fine wherever their future travels decide to take them.

WE ALL PILE BACK INTO THE ‘SPEEDY GONZALES MOBILE’

Aunt Jean, her friend Pat, Kelly and I headed of to Applebees for supper tonight.  If I don’t stop eating like this I’ll soon not even fit through our Motorhome’s door.  And I had been doing so well at losing some weight this past month too.  With the places we have been going the food is so good and there is always so much of it.  Hard to leave anything behind……………..

HEY ALLAN WANNA SEE ME BLOW THROUGH THOSE TRAFFIC LIGHTS UP THERE

GROANER’S CORNER:((  Bob had this problem of getting up late in the morning and was always late for work.  After a few weeks of this, his boss was mad and threatened to fire him if he didn't do something about it.
So Bob went to his doctor, who gave him a pill and told him to take it before he went to bed. He got a great night's sleep and actually beat the alarm in the morning. After a leisurely breakfast, he cheerfully drove to work.  "Boss," he said, "The pill my doctor prescribed actually worked!"  "That's all fine," said the boss, "But where were you yesterday?"

The father of five children had won a toy Lion at a raffle. He called his kids together to ask which one should have the present.  "Who is the most obedient?" he asked. "Who never talks back to Mother? Who does everything she says?"  Five small voices answered in union. "Okay, Dad. you get to keep the Lion."

  1. I think maybe you have a case of too much travel lately in
    rough, congested areas......maybe?
Staying around the southwest and relaxing more may be the best venue.
I agree, from your pictures, you live in a beautiful area.
Traveling usually helps us to appreciate 'home'.
Looks like you have landed in a great parking spot for this visit. 😊

  2. Glad you experienced that quiet Nature Coast of Florida before you dove back into the rat race south of Tampa, Al. It stays a lot cooler up there also. You might be onto something as it being a place to winter in the future.

  3. Looks like you're enjoying the visits with Aunt Jean and her friend Pat. That is the best part of the area anyway. Everything else is just either gravy or must do, depending on your point of view.

Less traffic further up in the panhandle areas but no Aunt Jean. Guess it goes to prove, we can't always have everything, can we? I know you will/are enjoying both but Ontario does have it's advantages!!

    Take care, be safe.

  4. Al,
I just read your post, and all I can say is, "There's no place like home."

  5. Love your sense of humour while you braved the ride to the restaurant. There must be some rural areas down there to explore with the Pheebs, just find them. Have you looked at the weather back home? Don't rush your departure just yet.

  6. I'm always ready to get out of flat too much traffic Florida by the time the hot weather threatens. This year it showed up WAY early along with all the humidity and pollen but it was still too dicey to head north. Sometimes you can't win. Love Speedy and Pecos!
