ALTHOUGH DULL AND DRAB HERE I WAS ABLE TO VISIT THE STATES OF MISSISSIPPPI AND KANSAS TODAY PLUS A COUPLE CANADIAN PROVINCES

THIS KINDA SUMS UP OUR DAY

It was about as dull and dreary a November day as one could imagine.  Not freezing cold like this past week-end but with a dampness in the area it made the day’s 41F feel like 36F.  Thank heavens there was no wind.  Had to really push myself out the door this morning.  With a slight mist in the air and windshield wipers on the go Pheebs and I sloshed our way around a few muddy country roads in and around the Hullett Marsh.  I was challenged to find any interesting photos and before I knew it we were back home again and that was about it for the day as far as being outside was concerned.  Plopped myself into my recliner, clicked the TV on to the Smithsonian channel and happily traveled via helicopter to the States of Mississippi and Kansas as well as the Provinces of Alberta and Nova Scotia.  ‘Wow’, two big life saving thumbs up for that Smithsonian channel eh.

ALTHOUGH NOT WAITING FOR A SCHOOL BUS I DO THINK THESE  TWO HORSES WERE MAYBE WAITING FOR THEIR OWNER TO COME TAKE THEM BACK TO A WARM DRY BARN

In an email reader Ron asked, “Are willing to share that concoction of vitamin pills recommended by readers?”…… Well yes I am but first let me say I am a very skeptical person when it comes to Vitamin pills.  I’ve tried different ones on and off through the years and unless I notice a difference right away how do I know they are doing any good.  Yes, I know that is the wrong way to look at it and some things take time.  I have a basic mis-trust with those big companies making vitamin pills and all the claims they make regarding their product.  However here I am again having another go at vitamin pills.  The ones I’m trying now were bought at a Health Food store and I’m told they are ‘supposed to be better’.  Here’s my list……..From a Canadian company called Natural Factors I am taking 900mg of ‘Maximum Triple Strength RxOmega-3….. 500mg of extra strength Biogel Ascorbate C…..1,000IU’s of Vitamine D3…..Complex B….. and 5000mcg of Methylcobalamin B12.  Now I don’t know if this concoction of vitamins is keeping my head above water through these mostly dreary November days or not but I do seem to be coping with things a snap better than I usually do……………………….

With help I have finally managed to update my Barn Block Quilt album and get it back onto my right hand side bar.  I have structured it that newest quilt photos will always be first.  You can find it near the top of the column under ‘Photo Albums’.  If the link doesn’t work please let me know.  If it does work I will add my other albums and maybe put together some new ones.

PHEEBS CLOSELY  WATCHES A BUNCH OF SEAGULLS IN A FIELD

I was thinking (something I occasionally do) this morning again how lucky I am to have stumbled across this blogging hobby back in 2006.  It sure has kept life from getting me down and had I not started my blog back then I can’t imagine how I would be putting in my days now.  How nice to have a meaningful purpose every morning when I wake up.   Even if we don’t go far and are stuck traveling many of the same roads day after day at least I am able to get outside, take Pheebs for a Jeep ride, look for some photos and at the end of the day sit down, write about my day, and share my thoughts, feelings, and photos with others.  It’s been a winning formula for me these past bunch of years and again I thank my readers for giving me the incentive and encouragement to keep my blog hobby going each and every day:))

IT WAS ABOUT THIS POINT WHERE AFTER CONFERRING WITH PHEEBS I MADE THE DECISION TO HEAD HOME

GROANER’S CORNER:((  In light of the rising frequency of human - grizzly bear conflicts, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters, and fishermen to take extra precautions and keep alert of bears while in the field. They advise that outdoorsmen wear noisy little bells on their clothing so as not to startle bears that aren't expecting them. They also advise outdoorsmen to carry pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with a bear. It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity. Outdoorsmen should recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear dung. Black bear dung is smaller and contains lots of berries and squirrel fur. Grizzly bear dung has little bells in it and smells like pepper.

"How do you do?"
"How do I do what?"
"I mean, how do you find yourself?"
"Don't be silly. I never lose myself."
"You don't understand. How do you feel?"
"With my fingers, of course. Haven't you got anything better to do than bother me with stupid questions?"

Knock Knock!
Who's there?
Thermos!
Thermos who?
Thermos be a an end to these Knock Knock jokes soon I hope.

Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your photos. I look forward to them every day. Sometimes I wonder what you will photograph for that day. Thank you for taking the time to do that. By the way did you ever photo the back porch after it was all finished. Would love to see it? Thanks Al Kathy Rousseau It's about time!

  4. OK Al the barn blocks album works well. In fact too well. It will be a lot of work but I feel that your photos are good enough that more albums on specific subjects would be very wonderful. Thanks for all the good work you have already done for us readers.

  9. Glad you were able to visit my state (Kansas). We live in the southeastern part which isn't as flat as further west. Always enjoy your pictures and your words.
