WALKING IN THE BANNOCKBURN CONSERVATION AREA AND KELLY CHECKS OFF HER FIRST MEDICAL APPOINTMENT

DSC_5670
Kelly headed off to University Hospital about 7:45 this morning under clear sunny skies.  It was a scan she was having done and knew it wouldn’t take long so had a shopping expedition planned.  She likes to head over to Hyde Park Mall and take her time browsing around.  She’s not comfortable with ‘you know who’ sitting in the car waiting so I got to stay home.

Our wanderings led us to the Bannockburn Conservation Area east of Varna Ontario so we parked the Jeep and headed off on a walk.  This is a beautiful spot for anyone in the area looking for a great  hiking spot and now with this cooler weather upon us and no bugs in the air it is ideal.

Kelly rolled in from London about 4:15 and said the scheduled scan plus another added on scan went fine despite having to drink several kinds of different liquids.  She may have the results of the scans in a few days.

GROANER’S CORNER:(( A man answers the phone and has the following conversation:
"Yes, mother, I've had a hard day. Gladys has been most difficult...I know I ought to be more firm, but it is hard. Well, you know how she is..."
"Yes, I remember you warned me. I remember you told me that she was a vile creature who would make my life miserable and you begged me not to marry her. You were perfectly right..."  "You want to speak with her? All right."   He looks up from the telephone and calls to his wife in the next room: "Gladys, your mother wants to talk to you!"

  1. I am impressed by the growing barn quilt collection you have photographed up in your neck of the world. I had not heard of such a thing until a friend and I wandered through the back roads of Iowa on our way to Kenora, ON. Most every barn along those roads had a "barn hex", which was the term my friend used. Of course, there is a Canadian flavor to the quilts in your neighborhood.

If you have the option to pass through Iowa on your travels, maybe....

  2. We don;t have rain gutters on our coach so need to keep the roof clean and black streaks away. Nice that kelly got those tests all done and hope the results are positive and you guys head to the southwest soon.

  4. Don't you love those boardwalks for being above the lovely nature? I've decided that when we finally land somewhere I want a quilt square on our little house - they're so cool!! Absolutely love that amazing web. They really are beautiful works of art and that one looks huge.
