MONDAY POST

DSC_4068

It was a warm summer’s wind blowing as I stood in thought beside a large tree alongside one of our areas many graveled roads.  It was the chirping of Crickets that had pulled me over.  I truly felt early Autumn stirring this morning.

IT WAS HERE I STOOD LISTENING TO EARLY AUTUMN’S CRICKETS

Not many words again tonight as I struggle once more with something of interest to write about.  A kind of ‘same old – same old’ funk finally caught up and settled upon me today and aside from a few photos I couldn’t seem to interest myself in that side of things either.  We’ll see how tomorrow goes.

GROANER’S CORNER:(( 'Johnny, where's your homework?' Miss Martin said sternly to the little boy, while holding out her hand.  'My dog ate it,' was his solemn response. 'Johnny, I have been a teacher for eighteen years. Do you really expect me to believe that?'  'It's true, Miss Martin, I swear,' insisted Johnny. 'I had to force him, but he finally did eat it!'

- Why did the pioneers cross the country in covered wagons?  Because they didn't want to wait 40 years for a train!

- Why did the teacher wear sunglasses?
Because his class was so bright!

- Did you hear about the cross eyed teacher?
He couldn't control his pupils!

Knock, Knock.
Who's there?
Hoo.
Hoo who?
So what are you some kind of an Owl!

  1. Those funks happen sometimes, but hopefully if all goes well this fall we will be checking out some new and old places on the road again.

  2. Not sure I could put into words how these Barn Quilt Blocks makes this quilting brain go into overtime. Yep, I mentally take them apart and put them back together. Tonight I finally decided the leaves would have to be appliquéd. I am thinking a quilter must live on that property. Thanks for all you share with us.

  4. You might be feeling in a "funk," however the photos are just beautiful. My favorite tonight is the last one of the butterfly as I feel I could just reach out and touch it. Thanks again for sharing with all of us.

  5. Do you suppose there are barns in the US that have Barn Quilts?
Possibly some in the mid west. Never saw it until you posted them.
Just fascinating, very creative, thanks for sharing!
