MOTHERS DAY PHOTOS ARE IN AND WE HAVE BEES IN OUR BLOSSOMS

MAJORITY OF TONIGHT’S PHOTOS ARE FROM AROUND OUR YARD TODAY….’THIS STEMLESS DANDELION’ FLOWER CAUGHT MY EYE:))
Must have forgot to plug myself in again last night and woke up with energy levels still on the low side.  Nice sunny morning but temperatures are still cool for this time of year.  Pheebs and I did manage a short drive into and around Bayfield but were soon home again at which time I plunked myself into my reading chair for the second morning in a row.

SAILBOATS ARE BEGINNING TO FILL UP THE SLIPS LINING BAYFIELD’S HARBOR AND I IMAGINE WITH OUR MAY 24TH LONG WEEK-END COMING UP THEY WILL MOSTLY ALL BE FILLED BY THE END OF THE WEEK

With a number of projects  awaiting my attention outside I finally managed to gather myself together some enthusiasm and drag myself outside.  Power washer was sitting there so I started with that and power washed another dozen patio stones.  Figured while I had the power washer going I might as well start the next phase of our back yard deck project and that was to power wash the old porch deck adjacent to the new deck.  Did that.  When it dries out I’ll stain the old deck to hopefully blend it in better with the new deck addition.  With all that power washing I figured the next best thing on tap for the day was a wee power nap and as soon as I had taken care of that little ditty I was back outside again and got me some serious puttering going on.

Kelly’s off to University Hospital early in the morning for an abdominal ultra-sound.  She’s driving herself over to London this time because she has some stores she wants to leisurely browse  around in afterwards.  The word ‘leisurely’ is the active word there as long  as I’m not sitting out in the parking lot waiting so I have been designated to ‘stay home’.

Would you believe I had my Rand McNally atlas out this afternoon looking at things west of the Mississippi River wishing winter months were warmer in Utah.   There is beautiful scenery all over the American Southwest but Utah just seems to have it in spades.  Because of our short window of seasonal time in the States each year we have only ever been able to visit Utah either on our way south in the Fall or heading home in the Spring.   I think we’ll have to spend some time thinking how we can somehow spend more of our time seeing more of Utah this coming winter.  As you know with our Congress Az home now sold we are ‘foot loose and fancy free’ once again:))

GROANER’S CORNER:(( A man wrote a letter to a small hotel he planned to visit on his vacation: "I would very much like to bring my dog with me. He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?"  An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who said, "I've been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I've never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or pictures off the walls. I've never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I've never had a dog run out on a hotel bill. Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you're welcome to stay here, too."

Two golden-agers were discussing their husbands over tea. "I do wish that my Elmer would stop biting his nails. He makes me terribly nervous."  My Billy used to do the same things," the older woman replied, "but I broke him of that pesky habit."  "How?"  "I hid his teeth!"

The teacher of the earth science class was lecturing on map reading. After explaining about latitude, longitude, degrees, and minutes the teacher asked, 'Suppose I asked you to meet me for lunch at 23 degrees, 4 minutes north latitude and 45 degrees, 15 minutes east longitude . . .?'
After a confused silence, a voice volunteered, 'I guess you'd be eating alone.'

  2. Appears Kelly had a wonderful Mother's Day. Your Spring is way ahead of us here in Alaska. I agree Utah has a lot of beauty to see. The weather was awesome last November when we stayed there.
