TURNED OUT TO BE A BLUE JAY KIND OF DAY

DSC_0009

ABOUT THE ONLY PHOTOS I WAS ABLE TO SNAG TODAY WERE BLUE JAYS

A heavy blanket of clouds moved in overnight leaving us with a very light dusting of snow this morning.  Our temperatures are hovering at and just above the freezing mark.  Way better than a week ago at this time.  I think we hit 35F today.

A small correction to my Friday’s blurb about Starbucks in Bayfield.  I said Starbuck’s in Michaels Pharmacy had a counter and stools.  Counter part was correct but there are no stools.  Kelly said the counter has hot coffee thermoses and you get a cup and serve yourself so it is mainly a take-out service.  I have since corrected my Friday post.

With it feeling cold and damp outside I spent most of my day in our sunroom reading.  It was just kind of one of those Okay inside days.  Kelly surprised me with a nice hot cup of hot chocolate and my mind couldn’t get anywhere near remembering the last time I ever had a cup of hot chocolate.

They are calling it Flowergeddon In Borrego Springs and both Kelly and I are so glad we are not there.   Hordes of people, traffic chaos with local business’s being over run.  Click on the above link to see what is happening there at the moment.  Thanks for that head’s up Dave:))

GROANER’S CORNER:(( A resident in a seaside hotel breakfast room called the head waiter to his table. "I want two boiled eggs, one of them so undercooked it's runny, and the other so overcooked, it's tough and hard to eat. Also, give me some grilled bacon that has been left on the plate to get cold; burnt toast that crumbles away as soon as you touch it with a knife; butter straight from the deep freeze so that it's impossible to spread; and a pot of very weak coffee, luke-warm."  "That's a complicated order, Sir," said the bewildered waiter. "It might be quite difficult to prepare."  The guest replied, "Oh? But that's what I got yesterday!!"

  5. I drove up Highway 74 from Palm Desert Friday and got some decent photos of the wildflowers there. We are NOT going down to Anza-Borrego. Too many people! ugh! Not my cup of tea!

  6. I do miss seeing Blue Jays. They were aways so "smartly" feathers. Here in California we do have Jays, but they are dull n comparison. Funny, how everyone had a different perspective about other people sharing a natural event. I have always been able to look beyond the crowds and enjoy the view. We enjoyed Borrego flowers last week with little thought to others who were also there. We had lunch an took a drive out to the flower fields just as if we were the only people in town. You missed some really great photography opportunities.

  7. The Blue Jays are the center of attention today. They don't mind the cold. Amazing the crowds in Borrego Springs. A little different this Spring.
