LILIES GROWING WILD ALONGSIDE A COUNTRY ROAD

Sat in my recliner for the longest while this morning thinking of where little Spoogers and I could go for a change that we haven't been to 150 times before.  Well there's lots of places of course but I do kind of like to keep our excursions to within 30 or 40 miles of  home.  With our location right here beside the lake we do not have the option of a 4th direction unless we strap some pontoons on Libby & paddle ourselves Westward.

GERALD, THIS IS YOUR DOG WALKING LANE

Before going anywhere this morning I had a couple small wood panels to paint outside before they come inside to become part of the overhead box enclosing our gas pipes.  Finishing that Pheebs and I headed off over to the Hullett Marsh.  Knew Bruce was coming over later in the morning so we had to have ourselves back before 11 and we did.

JUNE IS A GREAT MONTH FOR WILDFLOWERS

On the way back I mentioned to Pheebs it was a darn good thing Mom wasn’t home or both us guys would have been in some mighty big trouble once she saw the little mud Puppy I came home with.

RED WING BLACKBIRD

For supper tonight Pheebs & I had us a grilled cheese sandwich & one fried egg.  Only one because that’s all there was left in the fridge.  For dessert we chased that down with a stack of Kelly’s hidden waffles we found in the freezer.

IRIS’S IN A RURAL FARMER’S FRONT YARD FLOWER GARDEN

It seems the Shout Box spam has a habit of coming in overnight so first thing this morning I deleted 14 of them right off the bat.  Until we get this problem resolved do not click on any of the spammers names.

I THINK PHLOX IS ONE OF THE PRETTIEST WILDFLOWERS WE  HAVE & IT ESPECIALLY LIKES GROWING ALONG FENCE LINES & DITCHES

I’m not a Facebooker but here’s something I spotted on Facebook from Sam Weibel at Sam & Donna-5th Wheel Vagabonds.  Sam said, “For all our friends and relatives out there.  Here s an update on Donna.  She came through 2 hours of surgery and the surgeon said she is doing just fine.  They inserted a steel rod down the leg bone that was broken in 3 places.  She will probably post something tomorrow. I'm tired out and going to bed……Wishing all the best for Donna and Sam.  And speaking of wishing the best has anyone heard any more how Retired Rod is doing??

‘AL’s Old Scratchings’…….. Sometimes it’s just fun to let one’s mind go and write something silly.  Let all that gray matter have some fun with itself for a change,  Doesn’t have to make sense, doesn’t have to rhyme, doesn’t have to be anything other than what it is.  Wrote this one in the early 70’s and it’s called…………’Poke’

The snow fell off the mountain that year.  No one remembers except old Poke.  Poke was living on the mountain when the snow fell off.  Poke fell off too.  They say the Moon did it.  Poke says he did it.  Nobody really knows what did it.

Old Poke says it happened when he shoved the Sloob in his ear.  Messed with his mind and the snow fell off.  Even the Out House went.  Too bad because that was where Poke was.

Poke says 'everythin started shakin and fussin up noise'.  Says the Sloob did it.  Started makin the snow scared.  Scared snow moves right fast.  Least ways where Poke lives.  Poke says the whole mountain started movin.  I knew we was fallin so I fetched more Sloob.  The snow really got scared then.  We moved, all of us, the snow the Sloob the Outhouse and me.  We went right on down the mountain.  We was all fallin when we stopped.  Even the Sloob stopped.  There we was, the whole dang mess of us piled up at the bottom.  They say the Moon did it.  Old Poke says he did it.  Nobody knows just what did it.

  2. You might have to do a grocery run. Not nice to have a wife come home to an empty fridge. Know what you mean by knowing all roads, been in Alaska since 1989. That is one of the things I enjoy in Winter/ Florida, is being able to drive until I am lost.

  4. Knowing Pheebs doesn't usually go into the water I'm surprised by her mud bath. Cleaning the jeep will give you something to do.
