GOOD EXAMPLE OF LARRY, CURLY AND MOE AT TIMES

DSC_8389

IN TONIGHT’S POST I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE ALL THE “QUOTATION MARKS” HAVE COME FROM, I DID NOT PUT THEM IN……I MUST HAVE ACCIDENTALLY CLICKED ON SOMETHING SOMEWHERE

Kelly noticed in a Canadian Tire Flyer plastic shelving units on sale so we were into the Jeep first thing this morning and off to Goderich.  Pheebs too.  These units are not for the house but for our outside metal shed which I plan to do a major re-vamp on very shortly.  Everything’s coming out of the shed with only about a third of the stuff going back in…..and on proper shelves!!

OUR BACKYARD PRICKLY PEAR CACTUS WILL SOON BE IN BLOOM

<<< NO THAT RED FLOWER IS NOT A CACTUS BLOOM

Bruce dropped in this afternoon to assemble the last cabinet for our storage/bedroom.  It ended up being quite a process with all three of us  involved with the cabinets assembly at times.  Good example of a Larry, Curly and Moe situation.  So glad to finally have all this assembly stuff behind us now.  Just the cabinet doors to go on and that’s it.  Kelly & I both agreed “what were we thinking’ buying stuff needing assembly!!  With completion of this last cabinet we are seeing light at the end of this long renovation project of ours at last.  I did get the furnace door painted but it needs one more coat.  And speaking of the furnace I wouldn’t be surprised if we have to kick it on tonight.  It’s cold here!!

FIRST OFF TODAY BRUCE & KELLY HAD TO TAKE APART SATURDAYS SHELF ASSEMBLY WHEN IT WAS REALIZED A FEW PARTS WERE UPSIDE DOWN

It is always amazing how our weather can turn on a dime.  For me Saturday was unbearably hot & humid & today it is cold enough to wear a long sleeve shirt & a jacket.  Nice sunny day mind you but the strong winds coming in off the lake definitely have a ‘wind chill’ factor to them.  Air temperature at noon was 57F and with the chill factor thrown in I’m guessing it felt like somewhere in the upper 40’s.

OH NO THEY’VE HAD TO REFER TO THE INSTRUCTIONS ALREADY

Ivan has been having trouble for a long while now publishing his posts using Open Live Writer & quite often his blog does not make it onto mine or anyone else’s sidebar at all.  Luckily this morning Kelly noticed Ivan’s latest post on Facebook so I am including a link to it here…..Back On The Air   You really need to head on over to Ivan’s blog to read about how his Alberta summer ‘Fire-watch’ job has suddenly ramped up & especially in connection with Alberta’s big Fort McMurray Fire recently which Ivan was actually called upon to assist with.  You will also see in his photos how winter like conditions have not made his job any easier there at his firebase station.  And of course you will get to see some great photos of his best little furry fire-watch Pal Hailey as well.  And don’t forget to keep an eye out for Ivan’s follow-up post when he writes about his time in the BIG fire camp at Fort McMurray……………..

KELLY & BRUCE WORKING ON OUR FIRST CABINET ASSEMBLY IN THE CARPORT FRIDAY

Spammers are in my Shout Box daily now.  Following are three spams picked randomly & you can see the bad English which is always a dead giveaway spammers have got in.  These types of spam are machine generated and these are not real people although it is real people behind those spam generators.  This is blatantly evident by the spammers comments because nothing in the spam refers to any specific thing in my blog and the last spam refers to skin products.  I have also begun digging out spam in my blogs regular ‘comment section’ now as well.   Here are 3 examples of typical spam…..“I would like to subscribe for this blog to take hottest updates, thus where can i do it please help”………"Attractive section of content. I just stumbled upon your site and in accession capital to assert that I get actually enjoyed account your blog posts. Anyway I will be subscribing to your augment and even I achievement you access consistently rapidly”………."Yes! Finally someone writes about skin care products”.  Do not be surprised if one of these days you click on my blog to find the Shout Box totally gone and my Comment section at the end of each post gone as well.  These #%&**!!+=# low life scum bag spammers are a risk to readers and I’ve about had enough of it……….

GROANER’S CORNER:(( An old man goes to the Wizard to ask him if he can remove a "Curse" he has been living with for the last 40 years.  The Wizard says "maybe, but you will have to tell me the exact words that were used to put the curse on you."  The old man says without hesitation "I now pronounce you man and wife".

Two golden-agers were discussing their husbands over tea. "I do wish that my Elmer would stop biting his nails. He makes me terribly nervous."  My Billy used to do the same thing," the older woman replied, "but I broke him of that pesky habit."  "How?"  "I hid his teeth!"

Noah wasn't all that smart. If he had been, he would have swatted those two flies.

  1. Just think how productive these spammers could be if they actually got a real job. Could you switch over to one of those "captcha" post thingies, so at least your admirers could post in this comments box? Hope an easy solution can be found. Thanks, Al, for your musings and photos --from Annette in Nebraska

  2. Thanks for that Al! I even did an extra post from Blogger to get the sidebars to notice, but that didn't work this time! I should have another post ready any day now ;-)

  3. This weather is sure on and off, yup pretty cold today, at least we were driving or in the Tavi town hall most of the day.
Looks like you guys are keeping pretty occupied assembling those things. Those are the kind of projects that I really can get into and enjoy, I can be available too if Bruce is not around. Not usually too far away.

  4. Have you tried going into Design then Settings then set your Comments to Registered User (Open ID) to stop the spam. I had to do that a couple of years ago to stop all that garbage. Hate to see you lose all those positive comments.
Like George those cabinets that require assembly are fairly simple. I end up doing it for most everyone I know.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  6. I talked to my mother yesterday who is up in northern NY on the St. Lawrence River and she isn't very happy with the weather right now either. She said she had her furnace on the other day and then a week ago it was so hot and humid she had to put her air conditioners in. Typical weather for that area...hot one minute, freezing the next.

Can't wait to see photos of all the cabinets assembled! Pheebs isn't sure exactly what is happening by her expression:)
