MEEKER COLORADO TO GOBLIN STATE PARK WHERE A GOBLIN GOT US THEN INVOLUNTARILY ON TO PRICE UTAH - WHAT A DAY:((

DSC_0095

IN A MATTER OF MINUTES WE WENT FROM THIS PHOTO IN GOBLIN STATE PARK TO THE PHOTOS BELOW

Pheebs had me up & out the door by 4:30 this morning so my day started on the early side.  Compared to Laramie’s freezing cold temperatures a day before I didn’t mind being outside so much at that hour in cool but not cold temperatures.

THAT’S THE GOBLIN STATE PARK VISITOR CENTER IN THE BACKGROUND

I wrote the above paragraph early this morning.  It’s late now & after the past 6 stressful hours I am exhausted.  Kelly, Pheebs & I plus the big EEE are the only ones in a large parking lot next to a Jeep dealer in Price Utah but Libby our Jeep is not with us, she’s at the Jeep dealer next door .  This was not our destination of choice today.   I will try to get today’s post caught up Friday & tell you how we ended up at GOBLIN STATE PARK then had to drive another hundred miles to Price Utah without our Jeep along behind us.   I will leave you with a few photos…………………. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

GROANER’S CORNER:((  Today a man knocked on my door and asked for a small donation towards the local swimming pool.  I gave him a glass of water.

  1. Dang, and the travels were moving right along. Perhaps going to Goblin so close to Halloween was bad idea.

  2. Dad gum it, Al! I was SO HOPING y'all would not have any trouble this trip! (You do know I wait up every night til I read your post? Just as much an obligation to me as yours is for posting!). Now I'm going to be trying to figure out what in the world could have happened to cause this state of affairs! Want so much for you to have the fun time in Utah that you have been dreaming of. Will be thinking of you......

  4. Hope whatever is wrong is not serious. There's nothing more discouraging than having an issue while traveling. Will keep my fingers crossed that you will be on your way sooner than later.

  7. And the Goblins will get you if you don't watch out. As a native Hoosier, I loved James Whitcomb Riley's poems. And Little Orphan Annie is a favorite and appropriate for this time of year and your troubles. http://www.poetry-archive.com/r/little_orphant_annie.html

  8. Well, I guess if it is Jeep problems, it's cheaper than motorhome problems???????

  11. Grrrrr!!!!! As we always remind ourselves when we head out, it's not IF something will go wrong, it's WHEN.. Hopefully this will be the only big OOPS on your much needed trip ...hugs.

  12. Hard to put a happy spin on this, although the fact that you three and the rig are fine is certainly a plus! And problems discovered in a parking lot are better than those found while on the highway..... Will certainly hold good thoughts for a speedy and inexpensive solution.

  13. Hatred to hear this one. It's definitely unsettling at best when events take a turn. Glad the dealer wasn't to far and all are safe. My 2013 Ram Diesel had its first flatbed ride yesterday, but it happened after I already arrived at my winter camp in AZ. I will find out today what's wrong with it.

Hoping your day goes better and the damages aren't too high$$$$.

  15. After spending 8 1/2 hours on the side of the road when we were almost home, I can so relate to your stress and exhaustion. I am so sorry this happened. Hope it's an easy, not too expensive fix.

  18. oh NO!!! Price is in the wrong direction and it is a looooong way to go. Such a bummer, and not a great way to start out your wonderful time in Utah. Sigh. Sending good wishes for an easy solution and that this is the LAST glitch in your travels this year.

  20. On two occasions I was interrupted by conversation when I was hitching the trailer to the truck and on those two occasions, I made mistakes. One of those times I traveled 30 miles before I remembered that I did not attach the lock to the hitch pin. Fortunately no problem came up, but I have learned to not talk to anyone when I go through the hitching procedure. I have also learned to come back to double check the hitch for a second look before I pull out.
