IT WAS A BUSY DAY ON THE SOCIAL END OF THINGS BUT PHEEBS & I DID GET IN A FEW MARSH PHOTOS

DSC_6818

Well I'm beginning to sound like an old broken record even to myself these days.  Yes Pheebs & I headed off over to the Hullett-Marsh again this morning.  Same old coffee, same old muffin.  Only thing different was we had to be back home again by 10:30 so our drive & short walk were both really short.  Did manage a few quick photos though & even made it back home in time.

A mile east of our Park is located the WINDMILL LAKE  WAKE & ECO PARK & Kelly's daughter Sabra & husband Derek plus two boys Keenan & Langdon had an 11 a.m. appointment for lessons in wakeboarding.  Being a very active outdoor sports & recreation oriented family Derek & the 2 young boys were eager to try their hand at this new venture.  They all ski & snowboard during the winter so they had a slight edge on the wakeboard learning curve.  Derek went first & did extremely well even trying a few jumps off one of the ramps.  Nine year old Keenan was up next & I was impressed how fast he caught on.  Younger eight year old Langdon had a little tougher time but after encouragement from the Mom, Dad, Gramma, & the 2 instructors he was soon up & riding the board as well as his brother & Dad.  My part in all this was standing on a slightly elevated walking bridge nearby happily taking all the action photos.

It was really something to see how fast Keenan caught on to this water sport & it just goes to show how great those younger learning years are.  Next up was younger brother Langdon but he had a little tougher time.  No matter, he stuck with it & by the end of his 20 minutes it was easy to see he was a natural at it too.

We spent nearly 2 hours at the Wakeboard park before slipping back home.  Almost took me another 2 hours editing just under 200 photos & uploading them into an album for the very active young family.  The two boys also play hockey in the winter & lacrosse in the summer.  Derek’s a very successful Realtor in Cambridge Ontario.

Reservations had been made at THE DOCKS Restaurant in Bayfield for supper around 6 so the whole gang of us (9) piled in down there later on.  More about that in Sunday night’s post.  I know I have a lot of photos in tonight but keep in mind friends & family of all these folks will be very happy to see all these pictures………………………..

GROANER’S CORNER:)) While my son was on the Navy carrier USS George Washington, the air wing was busy with training missions. After talking to a pilot, one air-traffic controller accidentally left his microphone on and remarked to a nearby buddy, "That guy sounded just like Elmer Fudd."  The airwaves got strangely quiet as everyone listened, realizing that the pilot had also heard the comment. After about ten seconds, the pilot broke the silence by announcing:  "Be vewy, vewy quiet. We aw hunting submawenes."
