JUST A SHORT POST TONIGHT

DSC_0047

Feeling a little under the weather today I had not intended to write a post tonight but it was an email from an RV friend a few weeks ago that had me write this return to him tonight…. ‘Thanks for all your kind words regarding my blog.  It's folks like you who give folks like me the inspiration & confidence to write & take photos every day.  It is me who in the end have the readers to thank for giving me a purpose & a reason for getting up in the morning.  Something to look forward to & something to creatively occupy my time.  It's a big help for a restless personality like mine’.

So it’s just a short post tonight once again thanking readers for all their support & encouraging words over the years.  If it wasn’t for you folks I sure would have missed a lot of enjoyable writing hours & photography moments over these past 9 years.

GROANER’S CORNER:(( I was lying in my hospital bed on the third day after an accident when my eight-year-old granddaughter arrived with her mom.
She looked in awe at the wrist-to-shoulder cast on left arm, then asked to see the rest of the damage. I showed her my broken right ankle, which wasn't in a cast yet; my left leg, bruised knee to thigh; and, pushing back my bangs a raw bump the size of an egg above my eyebrow.
Her blue eyes wide, she asked earnestly, "Grandma, can I take you to school tomorrow for show and tell?"

  2. I know just what you are talking about - I grew up on a farm and had a lot of pen friends. I used to wait on the mail man anxiously awaiting letters. Now retirement has forced itself upon me after 37 yrs working and socializing, surrounded by kids and adults. I have gone back to a hobby I enjoyed as a kid - electronic pen pals (bloggers in today's language) and anxiously await postings to read & enjoy..amazing I reckon cheers for now..

  8. I think a lot of us write because of our readers' encouragement. I've tried to slow down or stop altogether, but I keep going because of the readers positive comments.

  9. Al, I just have to come back in the blogging world, but just one step at a time. Your pictures this evening show what I posted about this evening -- the "Billings Moon!"

  10. There are joys and sunshine that arrive in this life which cause us to be grateful that we are included in the sharing...... Sometimes I think about all the joy and sunshine you share, AL, with your thoughts, words and photos..... It really is amazing to think some folks including myself may get to spend time in the Southwest USA, on the road roaming around in your A rig, Jeeping with you and Pheebs on the back roads of Bayfield, sharing Kelly's Peace flags and on and on ....... It is a form of SHARING that may have more value and social caring than we could imagine.... Throw in your breathtaking PHOTOS and it is a WIN WIN all the way around..... This really goes for all the bloggers who spend time and effort sharing .....
One last note, you know AL, you remind me of an actor who explains how shy and introverted he is until he gets on the stage and becomes a flowering, talented extrovert ..... That's you as a blogger .... It all takes center stage when you SHARE and we WIN !!!

  14. I really needed to read this today. I read another popular blog and a reader got slammed for asking about their medical condition. That left a real sour spot for their blog. We readers develop.a friendship through your words and feelings. We hurt when you hurt and we are happy and upbeat when you are. I feel like I know you and Kelly better than some of my friends. You invest your time in writing and we invest our time in reading and caring. It's a win win for me. Thank you for all your hard work.

  18. Our moon was pretty last night, but yours definitely wins the "most bestest of ever" - especially with the cloud play. So glad you're where you can see that amazing sky - and that you choose to share it with us who aren't :-)
