SO DISAPPOINTED:((

DSC_3817

We were so disappointed this afternoon again to find out we may not have the Motorhome until next week some time now.  Don took it to a large truck repair facility in Cambridge for it’s safety inspection.  Of course trucks are priority there not Motorhomes.  Motorhome was supposed to have been done (manifold leak) this morning but garage said they had 2 emergency truck repairs come in.  Motorhome was bumped to the end of the line so we are pretty discouraged.  It’s anybody’s guess when we’ll finally take possession of it & I suppose that will depend on how many truck repair priorities there are ahead of the Motorhome Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday, or…….  It’s not that we need the rig because we are planning to go somewhere it’s just the whole principle of the thing…………….I saw this saying on another Blogger’s post a couple days ago.  It is attributed to Sylvia Plath.  ‘If you expect nothing from anybody you are never disappointed’.  Think I am going to get that saying permanently tattooed on my arm where I can be reminded of it daily…………………………………….

I carry an on-board Jukebox in my head & at any given time I have a line up of tunes playing.  That Jukebox set my toes a tappin on the floorboards of my Motorcycle this morning as I took myself for a nice quiet cruise through our rural countryside.  Temperatures are warm enough now to be comfortable.  No layers of cumbersome clothing trying to stay warm for this guy anymore.  That takes the fun out of it for me.  Been there done that.  South-Western Ontario is a great place to have a bike simply because of the abundance of great paved or hard packed rural roads.  Roads going to & from anywhere anyone wants to go.  Towns & cities can be easily avoided & avoid them I do.   I’m a lone rider preferring to ride the back roads just enjoying all Mother Nature has to offer.  I go at my own speed, turn where & when I want or stop when I want.  I am my own leader, I am my own follower.  And I sometimes have a couple cameras slung round my neck & shoulder.  I’m not into long butt-busting rides.  We have enough points of natural interest in our area to hold my attention & make any ride relaxingly enjoyable.  No interest in riding with groups of people.  Guess that kind of goes hand in hand with no interest in hiking with groups of people or traveling in any kind an RV caravans etc.  I’ve always been happiest doing things on my own & I get along just fine most times doing that.

It was so nice this morning I was able to do our morning walk in a short sleeve shirt.  What a welcome change from this cold & wet miserable Spring we have been having.  Even the bird’s were extra happy & how nice to have our forest tree tops filled with a chorus of happily chirping little birds.  Some we recognized right off & some we didn’t.  I guessing our Spring is at least 2 if not 3 weeks behind where it normally is.  Looking at photos from the past couple years we had all kinds of flowers & blooms out by now & trees were green & well on their way to leafing out.  Many of our trees do not even have buds on them yet.  Looks more like the third week of a normal April.

ANOTHER BAYFIELD SUNSET

GROANER’S CORNER:((  The Winter Break was over and the teacher was asking the class about their vacations. She turned to little Johnny and asked what he did over the break.
"We visited my grandmother in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania," he replied.
"That sounds like an excellent vocabulary word," the teacher said. "Can you tell the class how you spell 'Punxsutawney'?"  Little Johnny thought about it and said, "You know, come to think of it, we went to Ohio

Our Lamaze class included a tour of the paediatric wing of the hospital. When a new baby was brought into the nursery, all the women tried to guess its weight, but the guy standing next to me was the only male to venture a number.  "Looks like 9 pounds," he offered confidently.  "This must not be your first," I said.  "Oh, yes," he said. "It's my first."
"Then how would you know the weight of a baby?" I asked. He shrugged. "I'm a fisherman."

  1. I sure hope our appointment for next monday works out better than yours! We made it a month ago, first opening. Most of what we are having done is routine service and upgrades.

  2. I am so disappointed, too!! I was anticipating a tremendously happy post tonight. Guess that stuff about expecting nothing goes for me also. Anyway, maybe disappointment shared is less for all? Doesn't feel like it, though. Next week is gonna be long! No choice but to hang in there together. And keep smiling; spring is in the air!

  3. Darn. I know you are anxious and waiting for something good is just the absolute opposite of waiting for something bad. Wish I had a good jukebox in my head, all I have is the tunes rolling around nearly constantly. Helps if I remember the words but doesn't really seem to matter.

  4. The only tunes rolling in my head are those annoying jingles or tunes that you can't get rid of. I'm sure your mind has been busy arranging things in the new RV.... impatience is certainly NOT one of my virtues!

  5. The anticipation of a trip or a new toy is not something any of us want to be disappointed with. Hope you get your EEEEEEEEEEEE soon.

  6. Same thing for me today as well... The trucks from the highway are emergencies... So the motorhome had sat all week... So, I told him I had to go camping this weekend with the kids because of mother's day... And with their mother passed away, the grandkids expected me to be there... So I was declaring an emergency.... I just came in off of the highway..... He looked and me and said OK I'll get on it.... And tonight I am camped....

  8. Spring is about 3 weeks early in Anchorage, the Moose are out in force enjoying the fresh greens. Perhaps the climate is just relocating...

Happy to hear you were able to take the bike out for a get lost cruise.

  9. I'm with you, Al. I don't like traveling in groups or with anyone (now that it can't be Rich) because if I want to make an expected left hand turn on a dirt road I can do it if I'm by myself. :) This is nice. I can finally comment on several blogs I many times couldn't comment on for some reason. I always love your pictures. They are some of the best on the web, in my opinion. We are on the same page with a lot of our thinking...funny, two strangers. I read your posts of Feedy almost every day--sometimes get behind, but eventually catch up. Hope your motorhome is ready for you, soon.

  10. Hang in there, it's always hard to wait when something is getting bumped ahead of you.

  11. Yup...happened to us on a corner in Winslow, Arizona.... Two days became Three... Four... Five... Because of emergency repairs on semi trucks making their bread and butter. We finally complained and the owner's nephew came in on a SUNDAY to get us done and on our way. He wasn't too happy either.

  14. I'd be "beyond myself" with excitement, but since you're not going anywhere in it immediately take a deep breath.

  15. I've been a follower for many years but I think this is probably my first comment. I just had to write tonight as today's blog reminded me so much of a couple of lines from William Ernest Henley's Invictus that I've always loved..........

  16. When we take our coach for service we stay in it until the work is done, pretty quickly done then here in town.
A we too do not like to travel in groups, wander off by ourselves, maybe see you when we get there.

  17. I was relieved to at least read you were still getting the motorhome!! It's hard to have patience isn't it!

  18. That sounds like when I recently to my motorhome in for repairs at the Ford heavy duty service. I needed to park it for the weekend and when I took it in on Friday I told him I was not in a big hurry. At the time I only needed normal service. Well two weeks later I finally got it back with a whole new kingpin and front end and rear brakes. They also were working on everything but mine. Service trucks, ambulances, etc.

  19. Al, at least you will not have to deal with the repairs on the MH yourself. THAT would really been disappointing.

  20. We get what we imagine. I prefer to see my glass as always half full.

  21. Al thanks for making me realise I am not the only one out there challenged by filling up! I drive lots of company cars each with its own filling challenges (why can't companies buy the same make of vehicles!!). I always manage to pick up a fleet vehicle which has only a 1/4 tank of gas which to me means empty! I often sit on a gas station forecourt reading the "instruction manual" so I can unlock the gas cap and get the job done. Seems to me that it doesn't matter where you live ( in my case New Zealand) we all face the same challenges!
