We had quite a drop in temperature overnight so it was back to my T-Shirt & warm flannel shirts again. Nice for working outside though without that draining humidity we had a couple days ago. Hauled out the house vacuum & cleaned out the rig's bins in preparation for organizing what goes where & where goes what. I was anxious to get our carport floor clear of RV stuff.
TRILLIUMS, HOSTAS, & FERNS IN OUR BACK YARD
Kelly headed off to the Clinton Hospital this morning for a bone density test. Upon her return I took over the Jeep (Santa Fe is still in the garage having a new clutch installed) & made my way to the Maitland Medical Center to leave some blood. All the way to Goderich I had Shop-Vac on my mind. Upon leaving the Medical Center I headed myself on over to the Canadian Tire store with the intention to check on & see what condition my Scrooge condition was in. Grabbing a red cart inside the entrance door I quickly made my way over to the hardware department & grabbed a Shop-Vac right off the shelf before it even knew I was there. Made a bee-line for the cashier before I got into an argument & totally Scrooged myself again.
SAW THIS OLD DODGE IN GODERICH THIS MORNING & I’M GUESSING EARLY 50’S SOMETHING
Upon arriving home I soon had that vac out of the box & pressed into service. Lucky for me there was no assembly required except for attaching the hose & I was even able to do that myself. Wasn't long & I had all the bins vacuumed out in the Big EEE. Not that they were overly dirty but I just wanted to start things off with a clean slate. I find it's best for me to go at something full bore when I first get it while my interest, enthusiasm, & excitement are peaked. I have a tendency to get a little lazy in the cleaning department after a few months.
WE DO NOT HAVE A POWER AWNING LIKE WE DID ON OUR LAST 2 RIGS, REALLY GOING TO MISS THAT
Spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the wet bay & electrical bin plus the generator & propane tank. Managed to get one bin organized & loaded as well. Would you believe this rig has 4 on-board fire extinguishers. Also did a bit of crawling around underneath to have a look at all the undercoating & insulation Triple E builds into their products. Also noticed some fairly new BILSTEIN shocks. Bonus:))
YEP, THAT THERE’S OUR NEW SHOP-VAC ALRIGHT & THAT’S THE RIG’S ‘WET BAY’ --- CAME TO THE CONCLUSION TODAY IT’S BEST TO HAVE THE SEWER OUTLET PIPE OUTSIDE THE RIG INSTEAD OF IN A BIN BECAUSE THAT WAY IF ONE HAS A ‘CRAP EXPLOSION’ ALL THE LITTLE BURGY BITS WILL END UP ON THE GROUND & NOT IN THE BIN
SCRUB A DUB DUB
COACH EVEN HAS A SPECIAL COMPARTMENT FOR THE ‘NEVER USED’ SEWER HOSE
LARGEST PROPANE TANK IN A RIG WE HAVE EVER HAD --- SHOULD BE ENOUGH PROPANE IN THERE TO POWER US TO THE MOON
We are still coming across things Don has left for us in the rig like a BBQ & some great like new birding & nature field guide books. A complete set of tire covers as well as blocks of wood he had made for placing under the hydraulic jacks. Other blocks made for levelling as well. We just keep finding little perks & goodies.
DON LEFT THIS BBQ FOR US
ONE OF 4 FIRE EXTINGUISHERS & QUALITY BILSTEIN SHOCKS
ALWAYS WANTED ONE OF THESE WIDE REAR MUD GUARDS AS WELL
Because of the cold temperatures Kelly didn't come out to the rig today but with things warming up Saturday she plans on spending time inside getting a bunch of our stuff organized & put away. It's a good time to do that because we have a long week-end going on here in Canada & in our area the roads will be full of tourists. Always a good time to stay home. Because of the close proximity of trees & shrubs around our rig I can't really get a good photo of it so next week (weather permitting) I'll back the Big E out on the road or take it for a short drive in the country to grab myself a photo for our sidebar.
This is actually the third time I have written tonight's post. Something has gone wrong somewhere with either Live Writer or Picasa. I generally write my post first then add the photos last. About a week ago while adding photos my whole post suddenly disappeared & I had to start all over. Tonight the same thing happened again while I was adding photos & despite my repeated clicks on the ‘Save’ button as I was going along. Right now I am writing this as an email in Hotmail. At least if I lose it again I will not lose all my written text. I have no idea what has gone wrong or why but it just started happening about 5 days ago. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this using Live Writer & Picasa. I've been using these 2 programs together for probably 5 years now & this is the first time this has ever happened. Can you spell ‘F.R.U.S.T.A.T.E.D’!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AWNING DOWN & DRYING OUT FROM PREVIOUS DAYS HEAVY RAINS
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A woman's husband has been slipping in and out of a coma for several months yet she stayed by his bedside every single day. When he came to, he motioned for her to come nearer. As she sat by him, he said, "You know what? You have been with me all through the bad times. When I got fired, you were there to support me. When my business fell, you were there. When I got shot, you were by my side. When we lost the house, you gave me support. When my health started failing, you were still by my side. When I consider all that..................... I think you bring me bad luck!"
