A RELAXING NICE WEATHER DAY AT HOME & WHAT’S HAPPENING AT RUSTY & TIMBER’S HOUSE

STORMY SKIES OVER ROUGH LAKE HURON WATERS ALONG GODERICH’S SHORELINE MONDAY
Today’s sunny blue skies were quite a contrast from Mondays heavy overcast & wind driven rain.  Tonight’s pictures are from Monday.  My mind just didn’t find any photos today.  Couldn’t seem to get myself running on all cylinders.  Kelly busied herself this morning locking in our insurance with SANDERSON TRAVEL INSURANCE , renewing our COACH-NET road assistance service for another year, & notifying our banks about our upcoming travels.  First year we headed south we never thought to notify our bank & traveling across northern Texas our credit card was suddenly declined at a gas station.  Our bank didn’t know we were on the road & when they saw charges suddenly adding up south of the border they assumed our card had been stolen & froze the card.  We were temporarily inconvenienced but the bank did the right thing.   Lesson learned.

A DISTANT SUN SPLASH CASTS A LIGHT EMERALD SPARKLE OVER ROUGH LAKE HURON WATERS
The bulk carrier FEDERAL WESER is an ocean going ship out of Majuro in the South Pacific’s Marshal Islands.  Docked at Goderich’s huge complex of grain elevators I am guessing it may have been preparing to take on a load of soy beans Monday.  Many large 18 wheel trucks have been lined up & dumping their loads at the grain elevators for weeks.  Only large crops I see coming off farm fields right now are beans so I am assuming those trucks are hauling the bean harvest from near & far to the Goderich grain silos.

Lake Huron was very choppy yesterday as I watched a fishing boat couple miles out struggling it’s way towards Goderich’s harbor mouth.

A large lake freighter named the ALGOMA PROGRESS was also in harbor preparing to take on a load of salt at Goderich’s SIFTO SALT MINE.  This is the largest salt mine in the world.

Kelly spent this afternoon with the Vancouver folks while I stayed home with the Pheebs.  Legs were bothering me today & other than a short walk with Pheebers I never ventured too far.  Sore legs are probably a direct result of my Arthrotec prescription running out 2 days ago.  I have an appointment with my Nurse Practitioner Thursday so I’ll get all that medical stuff back on track at that time.  Kelly received the results of her last blood test & she is holding her own with numbers remaining steady.  Weight has stabilized & she says she is feeling great.  And of course she is looking great again as well:))

And the nice success story continues with the saga of Rusty & Timber.  RV SUE received an email from Rusty saying a crew from Home Depot came through on a promise spurred on by RV Sue’s blog readers.  Might want to click on RV Sue’s link & ride on over there & see what’s happening at Rusty & Timber’s house:))

FROM THE SOUTH HARBOR AREA I SPOTTED THIS CURIOUS LOOKING STRUCTURE ATOP THE GODERICH CLIFFS
A phone call from Arizona tonight solved our Jeep’s missing jack handle problem.  No, the handle was not found laying on the shoulder near Elfrida by the Border Patrol.   But it was a recent resident of Elfrida now living in Congress who made the call.  It was the Sarge:))  Reader’s may recall my post SERGEANT JOHN & HIS HUDSON HORNETS.  John & Jackie were the ones who also helped Kelly & I move a heavy box spring & mattress into our Congress house & also gave us a washer & dryer.  You can read my post for that heavy bed move HERE.  John did most of the heavy lifting work that day because I was at the height of my hip pain at that particular time & about as useless as a twit.  John officially retired from Fort Huachuca near Sierra Vista a month & a half ago & they are now totally moved & settled into their great southwest house in Congress.  John is one of those guys who has everything & if he doesn’t have everything he is probably going to end up with everything sooner or later.  And yep, just so happens he has one of those Jeep bottle jack handles I’ve been missing.  Say, you don’t suppose he found that alongside the road near Elfrida a few years ago do ya.  Hmmmmmmmm……………

GROANER’S CORNER:((   Columbus Day always reminds me of the brave exploration party Columbus assembled in 1492, with all four ships sailing off into the unknown. You remember the names of his four ships: The Nina, the Pinta, the Santa Maria and the Clyde. You don't hear too much about the Clyde anymore, since that's the one that sailed over the edge.

  2. Great pic of that escape boat. Lots of good shipping hardware pics also.

Congrats on finding a jack handle, long as you get to Congress before a flat. I see you have that covered with tow service.

I spent too much time around that military post and do not even trust myself after that. You should have a good neighbor with him around.

I do Hope Kelly is doing well now.

  5. Loved the groaner. Same thing happened to us at a gas station in Louisiana--Michael was partially blocking the entrance to the entire station, I took the credit card into the station so they would activate the pump and it wouldn't keep cutting us off at $100--when the kid went to run the card, it declined the charge!! They didn't take American Express, our other card, their ATM machine was out of order, OH, NO!! Between us and Rollie (who was with us) we came up with enough cash to pay the $400 bill!!

  6. Thrilled and thankful that Kelly is feeling so much better and the test results are good. Could not ask for much better than that!

I do miss your black background.

  7. So happy Kelly is feeling better..Our credit card was shut off when we went to Alaska one summer (before we had an RV)...A quick call and they got us started again...I like that they keep a close eye on strange purchases...

  8. The Clyde?
Good to hear you now have a handle on the jack handle. Gets my sense of things being in order, back in order...

  10. It's uncommon to see a painting that looks like photography, and less common to see photography that looks like a painting. Nice job - I need to re-read your Picasa posts so I can wring some blood out of my turnip camera.
