NOT ONE OF OUR BETTER SUMMERS

KEEPING AN EYE OUT FOR PESKY SQUIRRELS IN THE FRONT YARD

Happy to report Kelly is feeling better & the swelling has gone down a bit. She is not quite as sore either. We did have a reversal of walking roles this morning though. For the past 3 or 4 days it has been me who has not been able to walk our morning trail due to a sore foot. This morning it was Kelly who had to turn back at the Goose pond while Pheebs & I were able to make it slowly around the whole trail. Even managed to trim back a few shrubs along the way. Foot's sore tonight so maybe I overdid the walk thing:((

Our delightfully refreshing 65F this morning energized & interested me enough to take care of some yard maintenance. Kelly kept herself busy in the kitchen for awhile & spent most of her time resting & reading.  First thing in the morning she is off to the Maitland Medical Clinic in Goderich for MORE blood work.  Dr. Haffner’s office called today saying he wants to see Kelly on August 27th.  Luckily the appointment is in the afternoon because I have an appointment with my specialist guy Dr. Bukala in the morning of that same day as well.  This has not turned out to be one of our better summers……………….

GROANER'S CORNER:(( To all my dearest friends, I need some help. My cousin's cat had kittens and he was able to give away all but 4 of them. I told him I would help him find homes for the last 4. I can't take one because I am allergic, but if you could take just one it would be such a help and the kittens could have a nice home.
Since he lives by the Nuclear Power Plant, I'll go pick them up for you. I've attached pictures of the last 4 kittens. Will you help?

  1. Seems like the medical merry-go-round has kept you and Kelly plenty busy this summer. It always seems to come in bunches and then things will quiet down for awhile. I hope it's about to quiet down for you two and that you'll both be feeling better soon so you can hop off that merry-go-round and get into the Winnie and BAYgo.

  2. I'll take all four of the kittens as they remind me of my coworkers before I retired...

  3. I'm glad Kelly is feeling better. I sure hope the tests help to give some kind of diagnosis for her. Hopefully the rest of the summer will be better.

  4. It sounds like you both would benefit from jumping into the RV and heading for Arizona. Spending a few weeks or months there should perk you right up!

  5. Be nice to that foot Al, make it mad and you will regret it. Then again adopting one of those kittens might cause someone regret. I do wonder what kind of work ( Hey Duke50 ) did for a living. Hope Kelly keeps getting better from the intrusive testing she went through.

  6. As we get older all these parts need fixing, just like a vehicle.
The nice thing about a vehicle is we can buy a new one, but we only have one body and its fix and repair we hope!
    Glad Kelly is felling better.

  7. Hey, Al...George makes a good point. Maybe you should try using a can of WD40, just spray it on those things that don't seem to be working so well and see what happens.

  9. It takes time...much more time at our age...for your foot to heal. It will get better!

Hope Kelly feels better and better with each passing day!

  11. I see that Sally B has upgraded your sore foot to a 'stress fracture'. I do hope she is wrong as were the Valley Fever diagnosis for Kelly.

Got to agree that it has not been a great summer for the Bayfield Bunch.

  13. Hoping you and Kelly are just getting all the medical downs over in one fell swoop so you can continue your life on wheels and move along to Congress to enjoy the winter. Fingers, toes, etc., crossed that it all comes to an end very soon. Hugs and pets to Pheebs.

  14. When I told a friend I was falling apart, she told me to eat more Taffy and Caramel! That works for me!

  15. On the positive side, it really could be way worse. You are just making up for living so perfectly over the years....all at once.

  16. And I whine about my tiny biopsy. Kelly's strength gives me a reminder that getting older, life sure has some challenges and hoops to jump. So hopeful the diagnosis comes soon and some answers or direction to nip this in the butt. It's time for you to be planning and feeling that SW sunshine again...hope that happens soon!
