HAMBURGERS, LEMON TARTS & A SURPRISE CERAMIC ROOSTER

DSC_0002

<<< WE WERE OUT THE DOOR THIS MORNING AT 7:30

Nice quiet desert walk this morning. Always a positive start to any day walking with mountains at dawn, prickly green cactus close enough to grab ya, & an endless blue sky overhead just waiting to make for another perfectly great Arizona day.

ALWAYS LIKE THE EARLY MORNING SHAPES & SHADOWS…CAN YOU SEE THE ELEPHANT’S HEAD, THE LION’S FACE, & THE ALIEN

Arriving back from our walk we were surprised to see a ceramic Rooster perched upon a table on our porch.  A rather handsome fellow indeed who fits in well with our colorful southwest décor.  Not only the neighbor’s with Roosters now.  Thanks to Jake, Sophie, Louie Jean & Skip:))

Aside from a little bit of yard work today I decided to give my leg & hip a rest.  Still having problems there but not as bad as couple weeks ago.  Stuck close to my recliner & watched half a dozen biographies on the biography channel.  Jean & Skip slipped out for a look around Congress while Kelly & I rode shotgun on the doggy gang.  What a bunch of Sweetie Pies they are.  Tomorrow we may convoy with Jean & Skip up to the old mining town of Stanton, which is still a hub for a new kind of gold prospector in these here parts.  They don’t ride horses much any more, they drive ATV’s….& we’re told some of em still wear shootin irons.

CLOSE UP OF CRATERS ON THE MOON?  NOPE, JUST A FEW LOCAL ANT HILLS >>>

Despite the daily hot sun, we stay nice & cool in our house without any air conditioning units or a swamp cooler.  We figure that is a direct result of the positive insulation factor we gained by having the house stuccoed last March.  Bonus:))

<<< WE HAVE OUR FINGERS CROSSED THIS WOODEN SCREEN DOOR IS GOING TO FIT

Kelly did up some hamburgers for supper & Jean did up some lemon tarts for dessert.  Al won’t be able to do up his pants for 6 weeks.

SLOW DAY AROUND OUR HOUSE FOR JAKE & PHEEBS… SOPHIE SAYS, “DON’T YOU BE A MESSIN WITH MY NEW PAL, SQUIRRELY…..OR ELSE!!

GROANER’S CORNER:((  Three Pastors were having lunch together.
One of them said, "You know, since summer started I've been having trouble with flying bats in my loft and attic at church. I've tried everything, but nothing seems to scare them off."
Another pastor said "Yes, me too. I've got hundreds living in my belfry and in the attic. I've even had the place fumigated, and they won't go away!"
The third pastor said, "I baptized all mine, made them members of the church, and they haven't been seen since!"

I’ve always had a curious mind about a lot of things.  Especially stuff that just doesn’t seem to add up for no logical reason.  My inquisitive mind will work overtime trying to tie up loose ends.  For that reason, I enjoyed Mark’s post over at the BOX CANYON BLOG.  Sherlock Johnson put in a bit of overtime solving The Mystery Of Flying Monkey Mesa.  I like to see logical answers hung onto seemingly impossible mysteries.  Keeps my head on an even keel:))

  5. We enjoyed Stanton because it's what it is -- a group of individuals doing what they do. They offered to let us sign up for a membership, but gee, we already have Thousand Trails and the Moose Club. What else do we need?
