NOT ALL DAYS ARE BUBBLES & RAINBOWS

DSC_0004-001

A FEW HOSTA BLOOMS DROOPING OVER KELLY’S BICYCLE

My days are not a continuous string of happily floating bubbles & jelly bean rainbows. Those days in fact, are the exception but I sure appreciate them when they do happen to come along. Wednesday was a bit of a back slider as I again dealt with some of my summer restlessness. Instead of plopping myself into the computer chair after supper & moaning the blues, I plopped myself on the seat of the Motorcycle, rode out the driveway & on down the road.  We have a nice straight stretch of smooth pavement heading east once out of the park so I just run it up through the gears, crack on some speed, turn my head slightly to the right & let that free flowing fresh country air just blow happily through my mind.  Kind of clears out some of that old funky stale stuff in there. In my left ear & out my right.  Beautiful night for a relaxing ride in the quiet countryside & I even got to see a mangy looking Coyote lope across the road a few hundred yards ahead:))

Kelly has a few days off so we loaded up the Pheebs & headed for Mitchell to visit my Uncle Harry Wednesday. Not doing too bad but but it sure isn’t much of a life anymore. On the way home we stopped at Carter's Garage in Clinton & picked up the Motorhome, complete with new tailpipes. Each 6' pipe had to specifically measured, bent into shape & custom fitted.

I THINK SOMEBODY REQUESTED A PICTURE OF THE NEW PIPES

Our Sitemeter counter at the top of the right hand blog column had quit working & I was unable to log into that account for 2 or 3 days so that meant our counter had stopped. No amount of emails to Sitemeter's tech support brought a response. Even Kelly had been unable to figure out what happened. After checking a few Sitemeter counters on other fellow bloggers sites, I saw they were working fine.  Late this afternoon we finally did receive a note from Sitemeter that said, “Please note that there was a server problem the last two days which may have caused issues with logging in. It seemed to be affecting a handful of customers. The issue has since been resolved”……..Guess we were in that handful of customers.

Nothing special happening today. Kelly did notice 2 'house properties' for sale on her 'Real Estate For Sale' site this morning so we did take a couple hours to go have a look at them. They were both in this area but neither one was what we are looking for. At least it got us out on the road going to a couple places we had never been before. We did see an interesting & affordable piece of property in the Kootenays near Cranbrook BC but unfortunately an out of Province move is just not in the cards for us at this point. Needless to say, we are still in quite a ker-fuffle with our plans for the future but at least it generates some enthusiasm, hope, & excitement on both our parts for some probable changes at some point down the road. I really don't think full timing is going to happen for us but I haven't given up my dream of that possibly becoming a reality someday. Even if it was only for a couple years.  Just so much to see & so little time left to see it all.

SUNSET ON BAYFIELD’S BEACH

Now, to answer a few commenter's questions before I forget again. Think it was Donna C over at CAVE DWELLINGS who noticed a musical keyboard leaning against our sunroom wall in one of my photos a few days ago. No, neither Kelly or I play any musical instruments. I think the keyboard is just there holding up the wall or something. Kathy from CRYSTAL CREATIONS asks, "How is the Jif supply holding out? Do you need a care package of more Jif to hold you until the Fall? We really appreciated the Shreddies"!………….. Doing fine in the Jif peanut butter department Kathy. Kelly brought back a big supply for herself this Spring. I actually don't eat it because I prefer the natural peanut butter without any additives. Some readers may remember our delivery of Shreddies cereal to Kathy & Grant of the BirdingRVers at the KARTCHNER CAVERNS in Arizona earlier this year. You can read about our SHREDDIES DELIVERY here.  It begins about half way down the post.

A little slice & dice at the Goderich Hospital in the morning then I’ll see if I can talk myself into a wee spin through the countryside looking for some photos.  Noticed a lot of farmers last night & today out in the fields with their combines & hay wagons taking off the wheat, barley & oats.  I’m guessing at that last one.  Very picturesque rural scenes.

  1. backsliding is a common occurance for those of us sitting idle that is for sure...funny that you mentioned the Kootenays..big land slide just outside of Kaslo..at a little place called Johnson's Landing..3 people missing..houses damaged or underneath the meters and meters of debris...the slide was so big that it wound up in Kootenay Lake..
    good luck tomorrow!!

  2. Looks like we may be calling BC our home in the next few weeks, but then again we are next door in Alberta.... not in Ontario.
A full cross country move would be hard and expensive.
    Bayfield looks so pretty.
Can't wait to see what you will be taking to the Arizona house and what you will be doing to it this winter!

  4. Glad you got out on the bike for a cleaning of the cobwebs. Jim has been doing his fishing and he is a happy man. Nice to have a happy guy around.

  5. Thanks for showing us your new pipes. They look like they were factory made. You were lucky someone close had a big bender.
I know and love the mind clearing feeling of going through the gears on a strong bike. It brings an inner grin like nothing else. Thanks for the great Sunset and boat pic. Good luck tomorrow.

  7. Sending good karma for your slice and dice...been there, done that...and I still think that anyone who loves music as much as you has at least TRIED to tinker on a key board at one time or another...just sayin'. You and I are having the same feelings lately...We are "short timers" and there is still soooo much to see and do..LET'S GET AFTER IT!!

  8. A lot of writers, me included, tend to feel restless. Your motorcycle is a "cobweb cleaner," mountain hikes do the same for me. If I had no mountains, I would need a motorcycle.
Here's to Jelly Bean Rainbows... Hang in.
