WORE MYSELF OUT TODAY

DSC_4021

With today's heat & humidity it didn't take me long to wear myself out.  Hitched up the Utility trailer this morning with my gardening tools aboard & headed off into Bayfield.  One of the DEER PARK LODGE properties was needing a little attention so I was called upon to slip over & get things tidied up.  Kinda nice getting up with somewhere to go & something to do for a change.  Enjoyable morning trimming shrubs, tree limbs & just some general all round yard work.  Didn't have my ladder with me so will have to go back Monday & finish things up.  A stop at Deer Park Lodge to trim up a few more shrubs on the way home & that was it for me.  ‘Ker-pooped’.   I wasn’t long in grabbing myself some relaxing zzzzz’s in my recliner & soaking up a very welcome blathering blast of nice refreshing cool central A/C.  Awww, tis quite a life we lead here sometimes:))

THANKFUL TO HAVE ALL THIS SHADE FOR MY BAYFIELD YARD CLEAN UP THIS MORNING

I remember a bunch of years ago I had a short wave radio with various bands on it such as police & airline pilots.  That radio is long gone but a friend just told me about a link for picking up the police bands again right here on the computer.  So now I not only have my soothing ambient music playing, I have Ontario Provincial Police dispatchers in the background talking to various cruisers out in the field as well.  I've always found that kind of interesting.  Earlier they were looking for a tractor trailer unit in our area with a green garbage like bin on the back.  Dispatcher said she got a complaint from another driver saying the truck was having a hard time driving a straight line.  Oh oh, it's the weekend....10-4!!  And, the dispatcher head me scrambling for my dictionary when another call came in saying someone was unable to ‘ambulate’.  And then there was a call just now about an 80 year old woman in a white Cadillac threatening another driver in a tan colored Toyota after a slight fender bender.  Don’t know if this is applicable in your neighborhood but here's the link for the SCANNER.

Big weekend in Bayfield called, Sail & Canvas.  There will be lots of sailboats all weekend with races being held out on Lake Huron.  Downtown Bayfield will be awash with with people coming from all round to enjoy the days festive activities.  For as long as I can remember, Bayfield has always been a favorite weekend destination for folks with all it’s arts & craft shops on main street.  Some very fine eateries here as well.  Undoubtedly one of the areas finest summer destinations, right here along Ontario’s West Coast.

Any long time readers know exactly how I feel about the decaying or already decayed state of music these days.  With the likes of that circus side show character named Lady Goo Goo or whatever that spectacle calls itself it is a pretty sad state of affairs out there in the ‘so called’ music industry.  But, let me  step aside for a minute & let someone else sum up my exact thoughts much better than I.  Mike hits the nail square on the head with MUSIC FOR GEEZERS

  2. Love the sunset photo. Bayfield is truly a beautiful place. Tried the scanner thing, but nothing where I'm at. Probably for the best, as this weekend is Strawberry Days and probably will be more mayham than I want to know about. :)

  3. I grew up with scanners, as my Dad was the DeKalb County Coroner...and then Den on the fire and ambulance..and then our son and son-in-law..We have one always going in the kitchen....Lots of emergency personnel in our family.

  4. Haha! If'n you're asking me, Lady Gaga is awesome. Clothes made of meat is just asking for trouble, but she's a progressive gal.

  6. I didn't have a problem reading your article, but then, I have to admit it was probably because I taught school for twenty years.

  7. They did a nice job on the floor in the tent. Someone has deep pockets.
When we paid for our daughter's wedding, we said she could have "anything she wanted", except it had to come in under a certain budget.
They could have eloped and put the rest in an RRSP, we didn't care. (That would have been OK with me for starters, but that's just a "Dad" thing)
They had to do some "planning", and the future Mother-in-law had to haul in her horns a couple times (well, unless she was willing to pay, but they didn't even pay for the rehearsal dinner!)

So there was no last minute crazy assed splurging, that's for sure.

  8. You got to do some yard work that you enjoy and some beautiful weather for the day as well. That's a pretty impressive floor in the tent.

  9. Thanks for the link to hear the scanner on my laptop. I've had a scanner in my home since the late early 70's but never on my computer.

  12. It is amazing that our brain can function as it does despite our abuse of it. Glad you got to go in and do some yard maintenance, it's always nice to have something productive to do.
    Love your pics as always!
