SOME HIGH FASHION SHOPPING AT THE TSC STORE:))

DSC_0025-1

A steady rain moved in overnight & we ended up having ourselves a cold gray damp & very wet day.  Only way to stay active & dry was to keep a roof over one's head.  Pheebs & I did just that this morning as we Jeeped ourselves through the rain to Goderich.  I enjoy any excuse to break up the day & do something different.  Excuse today being we had to pick up some birdseed at TSC.  And, I saw in their flyer they had short sleeve denim shirts on sale for $6.49.  Yep, if I'm a gonna buy myself some new high fashion clothes, it's TSC all the way for this guy. Pheebs did a great job at mooning McDonald's when we went flying by too.

STORMY SKY’S ON THE WAY TO GODERICH
And yes, the first & last photo of Pheebs in Thursday's post are one & the same.  The last one shows how a little 'cropping' & 'soft focus' in Picasa's photo editing program can give a photo a different effect.

This bear of a sore throat still has not let go of me.  Did they back a gravel truck down my throat to get a load of kidney stones out our what.  Geeeezzzzzz.

There is always something kinda cozy about a rainy day.  Gives a feller a legitimate excuse for staying inside the house stretched out in the recliner with remote in hand.  But, not today.  Hauled my iPod & Bose out to the carport & cranked up some tunes.  Turned on a few lights & felt like a contented Caveman happily working away in his darkened little domicile tidying up his slightly dusty & slightly cluttered surroundings.  Sometimes, depending on mood, I kinda like that dusty cluttered feeling.  Neat-O:))

CAN YOU SEE A LIKENESS TO THE SOUTHWEST’S MYTHICAL KOKOPELLI CHARACTER IN THE SHADOW?  MAYBE A LITTLE CANADIAN MOOSE MIXED IN

Kelly had to go into my Facebook settings this morning & untangle me from another devious Facebook deception.  I'm not big on YouTube videos to begin with but saw a couple by friends that looked interesting.  One video about a dog was OK but the other one had some rough language in it.  Next thing I know I see both those videos on Facebook today with my name beside them saying I had watched or liked the videos.  That just ticks me off to end end that Facebook takes liberties like that.  Took Kelly a bit of scrambling to find out where to make the appropriate changes in my settings & get me off a list I had not put myself on!!  No matter, I'm sure Facebook will intervene at some point & coyly change my settings again.  It has happened before!!  I know, I know, why don't I just dump Facebook.  I suppose because it is the only communication tool I have to keep up with a few friends who also have Facebook.  But I'm tellin ya Alice, one of these days........bang-zoom!!!!

It is nice to see Chipmunks & small Red Squirrels returning to our yard again & we have the Pheebs to thank for that.  It was last summer when several neighbour's marauding cat's frequented our front yard killing all the Chipmunks, small Squirrels & who knows how many Birds as well as pond frogs.  Since Pheebs came to live with us last August cat's have wisely stayed away.  Pheebs won't put up with any kitty cat nonsense in the yard & patrols it regularly to the delight of her little feathered & furry front yard friends.

I like days when things are happening.  You know the kind of day when you get to the end of it & you have something satisfying to think about.  Something to write about.  When a day is eventful, writing comes easy.  Come to think of it, so does thinking.  I don't know where I'm going with this but it's the end of the day & I don't seem to have a lot to think about, therefore, not a lot left to write about.  Perhaps tomorrow will be an eventful day & writing will come easy again.....

And, some late breaking news from Karen over at SMALL HOUSE - BIG BACK YARD.  As many fellow Bloggers know, Karen & Steve have had their house for sale in preparation for RV full timing.  One word sums it up………….. ‘SOLD’:))

  1. Way to go Pheebes. Our Ginger was good at keeping cats out of our yard. Jim hated it when they walked on his car or boat. Sure hope that nasty throat improves soon.

  2. Love the hat ! I have one similar from Arizona. Rainy days are kinda nice for a change, but only one day at a time. TSC store are great places for the best top fashions for sure.

  3. I love that pic with Pheebs on Kelly's lap. Were they both sleeping or was a big bear-hug?

  4. I figured Facebook wasn't worth the aggravation, and the few friends I liked to connect with there can email me if they want to. I don't miss FB at all.

  5. Okay, I think it's "Pow Zoom to the Moon, Alice". :)

I don't care for FB at all.

  8. My suspicions are that the link itself is a sort of Facebook hack. Not that FB endorses it, it just allows it.

Was Pheebs mooning McDonald's, or mooning over it?

    Nice lizard/Kokopelli shot.

  9. Did you notice that your Kokopelli/
Canada moose shadow figure also has a pretty neat "native feather necktie"? Cool!

  10. What is a TSC Store? Are they a Canadian based retailer?

  11. I've had both cats and dogs and loved them both for different reasons. Our cats seemed to have a private agreement with "their" dogs. Cat gets the upstairs and dogs get the downstairs. Cat always gets a head start when being chased, and if cornered no noses were scratched.

Cats caught the mice and rats, dogs didn't catch much of anything. I saw one of the dogs catch and kill a young bird once when it flew right past the dogs nose. Quick snap and bird was dead. I think it was as much of a surprise to the dog as it was to me.

  12. I wondered what TSC was too. So I googled it and found Tractor Supply Company. Is that what you TSC store is? I love the pictures of Kelly and Pheebs snuggling. Hope your throat gets well soon.

  14. Geez Al, you and Mike and your wardrobes!! Good for Pheebs, get rid of those kitties--Emmi met her first kitty at Nat's 90th party the other night, she wasn't impressed!

  15. I rarely post on FB but my family all do so it is a good way to keep up to date with what they are doing. Hope your sore throat gets better soon.

  16. I use Facebook now, since we're so far away. The rule is though, "don't click on stuff". I was going to use another word there, but you can put in your own. I put all the pictures there that I don't know what to do with but figure our kids might like to see.
Good on Pheebs for keeping the cats at bay. I won't get into that whole 'cats roaming wild' debate. Suffice to say, any cat we've had were indoor cats. That is all.

  17. We're with Gypsy on the subject of Facebook, and Google+ for that matter. We have one friend who reads our occasional blog post, but communicates almost solely by a quarterly letter. We joined Google+ to see pictures of our great grandson, but his Momma seldom puts any on there. Hope your throat clears up soon!

  18. I had to change my Facebook password. Facebook actually notified me that someone from NIGERIA had hacked into my account...Boy, did I ever change that password fast!
Glad you are still feeling great..That is much different than I was when I had it done...just sayin'.
