MY MIND TAKES A LEAVE OF ABSENCE

 DSC_7951-1

We were jolted out of our wee trundle beds at 3 a.m. this morning when yet another severe heavy duty damaging storm rolled over us. Continuous staccato lightning lit the sky like a Pink Floyd rock concert with wind & rain bending our trees. Power went out & it was to be nearly 8 hours before we had it back again. Much damage in southern Ontario with trees & branches down. Power out to 150,000 homes.

The positive side of the storm blew out the hot humid weather of the past couple days. We have dropped 30 degrees in 24 hours & that’s OK by me. Traded in my short sleeve cool cotton shirt for my warmer T-shirt & long sleeved flannel shirt today, and yes, I’m back into my good old J.C. Pennyware again:))

Been sitting here at the computer staring blankly out the window watching birds at the feeders.  Seems my mind has taken a leave of absence from writing tonight......................................

  1. Our weather finally calmed down this afternoon. So hopefully our calm is moving your way. My mind's been kind of gone for the last week. Really must stop this nonsense.

  2. Here in NY we sure cooled off very quickly after the storm. It doesn't sound like you sustained any damage from it.

  5. Your mind is gone, my body is gone...Sooo maybe your body and my brain could come up with a "killer" blog,eh? Basically I'm exhausted and totally understand the dilemma.

  6. We had the same storm, I think. 90's and extreme humidity and today it's a high of 67! Lots of chain saw noise around...

  7. Sometimes the mind needs a vacation too. Just don't let it become a habit. :)

    Good groaner...

  9. Know the feeling!

We, thank goodness have been away from the really severe storms for the past few weeks here in the Michigan area. Temps and humidity were terrible for the past 3 days but it has since cooled down to the extreme...fine with us! They are calling for some severe storms where we are in Homer, MI all day and all night...so far, lots of heavy rain, some thunder and just a little wind...storms the way I like them, hope they don't get too bad!

  10. Al, if the power keeps going out like that, you'll have to get a typewriter and do your blogs with that. Don't know how you would post your photos, though, but maybe you could just link to Smug Mug. I see from your photo that you have "the cloud" there, so those Google guys could probably talk you through what you need to do in order to handle it all.

  11. Sometimes it's good to put the brain on auto-pilot and just let it drift.
