WE HAVEN'T TOLD THE FURRY GUYS YET:))

DSC_0145

Tonight's photos are from our visit to Bryce Canyon, Utah.........November 13th 2008:))

A cold, damp, rainy & miserable morning stretched into afternoon as the pace quickened for our final 2 days of travel preps.  Nice feeling to see the clock ticking down the long waiting time to less than 40 hours now.  I'd say it's just about time to open the door & let a little excitement in:))

More check marks ticked off on the 'to do' lists today with the final check marks hitting the paper early Saturday morning as we head out the door.  Max, Checkers & the Motormouse....'check.'  Kelly & I....'check.'  Yep, that's the whole crew alright....'check!!'

I was disappointed to find out today that our back up camera on the rig isn't working now.  I did manage to wedge myself between the driver's seat & the steering column to check out some fuses but they seemed fine so I have no idea what's going on.  The camera was working before we had the Workhorse brake recall work done a couple weeks ago & so were the levelers.  I have a feeling those two problems are connected somehow.  So disappointing!!  On the positive side, we did get the rig's toilet fixed so the bowl holds water again & we did get a recall part installed in our Dometic refrigerator.

We still haven't told the furry guys we'll be rolling out early Saturday morning & so far they don't suspect a thing, but that may change tomorrow.  They might clue in late tomorrow afternoon when I move & park the Motor Home on the road in front of the house....with the Jeep attached.  That's going to get some ears perked up & tails a-wagging for sure:))

With this damp, cold & rainy weather upon us I'm really looking forward to heading south into warmer air.  Talk of possible snow showers tomorrow so we just may be getting out of here in the nick of time.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  A large company, feeling it was time for a shakeup, hired a new CEO. The new boss was determined to rid the company of all slackers.  On a tour of the facilities, the CEO noticed a guy leaning on a wall. The room was full of workers and he wanted to let them know that he meant business.  He walked up to the guy leaning against the wall and asked, "How much money do you make a week?"  A little surprised, the young man looked at him and replied, "I make $400 a week. Why?"
The CEO then handed the guy $1,600 in cash and screamed, "Here's four weeks' pay, now GET OUT and don't come back."  Feeling pretty good about himself, the CEO looked around the room and asked,  "Does anyone want to tell me what that goof-ball did here?"
From across the room came a voice, "Pizza delivery guy from Domino's."

  1. Oh, the furkids know!
They see you doing things to the MH, and they know.
Mine knew as soon as I started packing stuff, and hovered around me like I had a steak in my pocket.

    Lovely pictures, thanks.

  4. Wow, your pictures are really bright and beautiful today!!

Our cats always know so I usually take them out a couple of days early just to throw a curve into their thinking! Of course, dogs have different requirements... but I'm thinking they have a clue or two. Animals know our feelings and I'm also thinkin' you two are pretty excited!!!

  5. Ya, that's not a coincidence when stuff is broken that wasn't before the brake work. Maybe ya ought to call em and see what they have to say! Sounds like plugs and wiring need adjusted and reconnected. Maybe some old fashioned unhappyness should be demonstrated to the folks at the brake shop.

  9. Your pictures of Bryce Canyon are beautiful!! Our youngest son, Bryce, can't wait to see the canyon that's named after him!! LOL

Our dog, who typically will take advantage of any chance she gets to run off and do some exploring, suddenly becomes glued to our heels when the RV comes out of the barn! Afraid she's going to get left behind!

  10. Those pictures make us feel bad that we passed this area up this summer due to the heat.

Based on our recent experience with our guest fur ball, I am pretty sure they already are looking forward to departure day.

  15. Your Bryce pictures are stunning -- as usual! We love to visit those parks in that area, and we love to see the splendid hoodoos and bright colors. What we miss most is the ability to really get out on the trails like you do. So your wanderings help us see those areas otherwise hidden to us. Keep on hiking and taking pictures!

Are you sure it is the dogs that will be perked up and tails a wagging when you hit the road? Looking forward to your stories on the road.

  17. We keep saying we are going to Bryce but haven't made it yet, hopefully this year. Your pictures are gorgeous.

Our blind dog always figures out the morning we are leaving and sits himself by the front door and whines until we take him out.

    Safe Travels!!
