GOT THE OLD SHOVEL IN THE GROUND TODAY:))

ALONG THE MORNING TRAIL

Another energy driven productive day. It is so unbelievable to me how the elimination of a simple cup of coffee each night after supper has made such a difference in my life. A few weeks ago when my Nurse Practitioner suggested no coffee after 12 noon as a solution to my poor sleeping habits I just figured, 'ya right!!' But, I was willing to try anything rather than go the sleeping pill route so I did what I was told for a change. I hadn't had a good night's sleep for many years let alone a whole week but since giving up the later day coffee I have been sleeping like Rip Van Winkle every night. Direct results of this are increased energy levels & today was another good example of that. Never had to take a recliner break all day. Nice:))

FOUND THIS LITTLE CATERPILLAR FELLOW IN A CEDAR SHRUB I MOVED TODAY

Some of our flower beds have become overgrown the last few years & I just didn't have the energy or the interest to maintain them anymore but today it was just like old times as I got my good old shovel in the ground again & busied myself transplanting flowers & shrubs . Landscape gardening was a favorite hobby of mine for years & today it felt nice to have those good old creative thought patterns flowing again.

OVERGROWN FLOWERBED-WORK HAS BEGUN-ALMOST FINISHED

I've heard of goal tenders, ship tenders & business tenders but until this morning I had never heard of battery tenders. Slip on over to RETIRED ROD'S blog & he'll not only tell you about battery tenders but show you a picture of one as well.

KAREN & AL  wondered what company we purchased our sun screens from that I had pictures of in last night's blog. We bought those visors in Quartzsite a couple of years ago from a vendor outside the big tent on opening day. Can't remember the name of the company but we just gave them the make & model of our rig & their computer told them which visors fit our Motor Home & that was that. Pulled them from stock & away we went. And yes, they are put up with 4 suction cups on each visor. At the same time we also purchased the full windshield screens that we use while parked. Same see through material as the visors & they are suction cupped on as well. We can see out OK but it's hard for anyone to see in.  If anyone knows the name of that company let me know & I'll put the addy in the blog.

  1. My husband, John, says first to try will be a New Zealander.

We don't have much faith in the driving of our countrymen.

Glad your feeling better. Now I want some of that energy.

    Blessings to you and Kelly

  2. That coffee thing is amazing! I feel I get more done when I drink more coffee, the caffeine keeps me going. I guess it affects everyone differently. I'm glad you figured it out. Must seem like a new lease on life.

  3. The last photo, the shimmery reflective one, is outstanding! Love it.

It sounds like you are really on a roll, and who woulda thought a cup of coffee could make so much difference? I'm down to 3 cups a day and only in the morning, but my sleep disruptions are probably more to do with the diuretic I take for blood pressure. I wish I had energy like you're talking about, but then you are younger than I am!

  4. After reading your post about the coffee/sleep problem a few days ago, I also have stopped coffee in the evenings. Your N.P. is so right! I've been sleeping better the past couple of nights too. Can't say I have more energy but I'm sleeping better thanks to your blog.

  5. And a big thumbs up to a new and improved "decaffeinated Al"!!!! I have about 2 cups of regular to get me going until 11AM...then it's quitsville...Sometimes we still don't sleep well, but that has EVERYTHING to do with the trains and NOTHING to do with coffee....Welcome back ....It's amazing how much one stupid cup of java after 4PM will work on ya....

  6. I believe the company for the sunscreens is RV Quick Shades http://www.rvsunshades4less.com/home.html

Stopping the caffeine by noon sounds like it did the trick. What a difference a good nights sleep makes.

  7. Can't really comment on the coffee stuff as I don't drink it. I sure would like to know about those suction cup window screens though. I had the snap on kind on my last rig, but don't have any now. I sure miss them and like them. :)

  8. Glad to hear the new coffee plan is still working for you. A good night's sleep is an amazing remedy for all kinds of ills - both real and imagined.

  9. Loved the groaners, and they are all 100% correct, especially the 50-50-90 rule! We have the same (or very similar) driving and privacy screens. Love 'em! But I'd have to take a trip to the storage lot to find the name of the manufacturer, and it's too early in the morning for such feverish actiity!

  10. I think gardening is what I miss most about our full-timing life style. Always loved getting out there early in the morning when it was just me and the wildlife.

Glad your energy is back up.
